EK: Thanks for the tip, and mp3s... this is... damn I wish my computer weren't messed up... dying to go home and fire up the sampler... grr!
The reason I was trying to figure out the group is it bore a striking resemblance to something I was messing around with musically (well, at least ideas I'd had), but with 5 or 6 times the style I wish I had... I don't know the inspiration behind the Avalanches stuff... my little side projecty thingee "Learn It" is all about re teaching the apocraphal message of the 1950's training videos that I have collected with sort've noisy drum/bass breakbeat stuff. If anyone is interested in hearing what I do when I screw around:

Careers are funny (even the word is funny... put peanut butter on the top of your mouth, and say it 25 times!) (wait, don't you might choke to death.)
once you've randomly picked one from the bag of life (hmmm... pharmacy technician? what's that?) you struggle and strive through training, acclaimation, understanding, mastery, problems within the industry, and somehow perhaps make some money at it. Most people question their choice of careers... personally, I can't think of any I'd rather be doing (well, other than professional not-doing-anything-but-screwingaroundwithvideoandaudio-er-person), but I still get frustrated daily with my job.
Sometimes it seems to easy, and I'm always afraid the carpet is going to be pulled out from underneath me. Ehh... enough of my whining, I suppose. People who haven't gone to college yet: Make sure you love what you're going into, kuz otherwise... its really hard to excel at something you don't love, and excelling is the only way to stay employed sometimes. -

EK: What was that group you mentioned in your Panel (I want to say "Avalanches" but that may be some other sort of underground group I heard about at the indy radio station here in town)... the song you displayed was SUPER cool, and I was very much digging the sampling
