I hate birthdays. Yesterday was my birthday, and all I wanted was my new freggin computer to work, but for the life of me I cannot get the blasted thing to work!!! Garrhhghh!! Here's the specs:
AMD Athlon 1.4 GHz
Asus A7A266
512 Meg DDR
41.0 GB IBM Deskstar
40 GB Maxtor
Asus V7100 Deluxe Combo Video
thats all I needed to put in it aside from the SB Live Plat. 5.1 sound card, and I'm frustrated as a Lukewarm PopTart that I can't get the MoFo to work, kuz I spent almost 200 bucks on the little (insert insulting pet name) yesterday (HD and RAM). The problem:
I can't get it to run at 1.4 GHz... it keeps trying to toss it back to 1.05 GHz, and won't stop giving me strange errors when I try to set it back to 1.4 (like it wont reboot from the Bios)... and when I settled with 1.05, and tried to load Win2k so I could just get something on it, got a runtime error... then I settled and tried to load Win98VII... runtime error...
then I took a large iron sledgehammer, and PUMMELED THE SHIT OUT OF IT.
No, I didnt...
Ok, I hope I don't come off as sounding condescending to Mac people, but this is something you will never experience... I can't imagine going out and buying a computer anymore, because getting all the peices is fun... and when I finally get it to work, I'm going to feel quite nice... untill then, though... GRARR!

My entire life is a lie!! No... wait... it's not...
But I was pondering my videos that I have entered into awa over the (2) years...
of the 4 I have submitted, 3 have been show, and a vast majority of these videos (that being 2), were not quite where I wanted them. I'm scared to get pidgeonholed (is that a word, or did I dream it?) into this "Wacky Video Guy!" thing, with only comedic videos under my belt... I sorta wish my good video idea had actually gotten done, so I could have something besides just another wacky AWA Expo entry (note: I like wacky awa expo entries, and will do many more of them, but it sucks when thats all you've been able to do!)... dammit, I have goals... Here they are!
Immediate Goal: Figure out why the hell my computer is exporting MPEGS that look like (and I quote) ASS.
Goal 2: Go home! See the cat... the cat is lonely... must go see the cat!
Goal 3: Upload this damned video (DivX is more fun anyway!)
Goal 4: Learn how to do a jig. I dont know why... I just want to. Imagine, being at a nightclub, everyone looking all dire and gothey (hehe, what kind of clubs do I go to??)... suddenly, someone just starts doing a jig. Hmm... wait, that would be dumb...
In other news, the word "Assclown" makes me chuckle. -

Tomorrow being my birthday, I join the realms of those able to walk up to the bar and say "Gimme Booze!" And they will... ah, yes... ok, its not that exciting, but still.
I'm converting "Pussy" to MPeg as I type, so I'll put it on here as soon as its done. Grr... I wish it had looked better at AWA... I must've done something funny to the tape, kuz this copy on the computer looks ok. Well, it is a direct export from the avid, though... hmm...
Blah... anyone who thinks that being a professional video editor will be just as much fun as editing AMV's all day, reconsider! It pays the bills, but you get sick of training videos after a while... gag! - Ahhh, nice 2001-09-25 11:21:43 Well, I found out about this page at AWA from numerous people (thanks EK, and Joe C!). My thirst for information on fellow editors will now be quenced... well, probably not all the way... wait, is there a term for that? "Sated" or something? Held over? Crap, my vocab chip must be burning out...
