Watched Big O DVD volume 2 last night. I really think this bossa thing is going to work. I think I might try and play up the Roger/Dorothy/Angel dynamic, since it's a love song (even though the lyrics are in Japanese.)

Brett and I are thinking about having a "wrong-off". Basically seeing who can make the WRONGEST video. Him vs. me. I'll be using "I Really Liked Her But She's Dead" by Jim's Big Ego; he'll be using "Jesus Walkin' on the Water" by Violent Femmes. Not for con competition, just to be EVIL.
Not going to say any more, lest I bring some divine wrath.
Speaking of WRONG, I did some new artwork last night. It was a belated Christmas gift to a woman on a very tiny private forum whose posts always crack me up. Let's just say I did a bit (a BIT?) of fanservicey catering, and leave it at that. Really pleased with how it turned out, though - I can tell the difference between this and my drawings from as late as October. The pencil work is tighter and more detailed, and the anatomy feels more solid. Still kinda weird in the sternum/collarbone area though.
There's also been a good bit of Wrong going down on my Oekaki BBS, not least of which is Asari's rendition of Vicious as Shun Mitaka, complete with sparkly teeth (BWAH!!!)

Listened to the Best Mix CD EVAR!!1@ on the way to work today. I can't explain why Tribe Called Quest fits perfectly right after Perry Como. You'll just have to trust me on that one.
Gradually coming to the disturbing realization that I really, really like kitschy Latin-influenced music. See also: Ben Folds' cha-cha-cha cover of the Flaming Lips' "She Don't Use Jelly". (Terry Chu will know what I'm talking about), and the minor-key bossa nova song I'm doing my Big-O video to.

I bought DVD #2 last night at Dragon's Lair, which I wouldn't have done had I known that dokidokistation was going to charge me $20 for 5-day shipping on the discounted doujinshi I ordered. Oh well. The money I saved on my discounted rent has to disappear somewhere, I suppose.
Ushicon's in 3 weeks. I'm so damn nervous. I keep thinking the some part of the con's going to screw up and everyone's going to tar and feather the staff, then post the photos and our entire sexual histories on the web in a flaming screeching hatefest. Then I just remind myself that I'm only in charge of registration, and that's all I should worry about, because further worrying is pointless.
Aaagh.
