JOURNAL: Big Big Truck (E K)

  • to stem the tide of poison rain 2002-01-18 18:16:27 KZ, Amizadai... thanks, guys *sniffle*
I'm OK for the most part. Nothing seems to be cracked or broken (except my pride, o'course), but bending my hip & arm is going to hurt for a couple of days.

Read some more One Piece, feeling better.

I've got this spectacularly gorgeous bruise from an encounter with a counter (hur! I made a funny) last week, so my whole left side is going to be all purty and sessy in its greenandpurplipulchritude. Yay!
Makes me glad I missed that doctor's appointment today - they probably would have asked me questions about my home life.
No, doctor, I REALLY AM *that* clumsy.

    And for what it's worth...
::sends big hugs to rubyeye and Yosho::

Everybody, try to take it easy this weekend.
    Good night! :-)

    Oh, and:

I just keep getting the best gift arts ever.

    People are so nice!!
  • A ghost of comfort, angel's breath / to keep this life inside my chest 2002-01-18 15:36:09 God.

    Sequence of today's events:

Get up at 5:45 this morning to take the cat to the vet.
Get scratched up while trying to get cat in carrier.
    Cat pisses in car.
    Car stinks.
    Vet takes a long time.
    Late for work.
Leave office to do press check on Ushicon shirts
Slip and fall down a flight of stairs, landing on left wrist, elbow, and hip, in that order.
Notice group of beautiful people laughing at me. No "are you OK", just ridicule & laughing.
Decide that beautiful people must die. Wish I was good with throwing knives.
On way out to car, realize that I should probably have some feeling in my left arm, which I don't.
Call print company to let them know I may be late, what with falling down stairs and all.
Sitting down in car seat hurts. Ow.
Car still stinks with cat piss.
Drive to printer, then drive to lunch. Attempt to work out RAGE with Public Enemy on car stereo.
Lunch order gets lost; lunch takes an hour and a half.
I take advantage of UT's "alcohol OK on your lunch break" policy.
Get back to work and discover I have to completely rework a poster I finished last week.

    Sigh.

Good things: print on the Ushicon T-shirts turned out real well.
  • whenever you're feeling lonely or down just call me, just call my name 2002-01-18 13:01:00 dreddnott: Freaky cool. Papyrus ICG, right? I dig the colors. Nice to see Sasami having a dark side. Ominous!
Just out of curiosity tho, why .png format, & what are the dimensions? For some reason it looked larger vertically than the standard 800x600/1024x768 thing.

I was going to say something... uhhh...
    My head just went blank.

    Discovered this morning that:
    1. getting a cat into a soft-sided carrier is very much a 2-person job. Most of my memories between 6:30 and 7 am consist of flailing limbs and claws.
    2. No matter how hard the task is, you should NOT give up - you should get him in that carrier anyway, or he will climb atop the steering wheel *while you are driving* and yowl, and later pee in your passenger side floorboard.
    3. Don't worry about trying to save the floorboard guard; just throw it out.
    4. Be thankful for anaesthesia.

Reading more One Piece - I love how Rufy is strong and goodhearted, but makes some of the DUMBEST moves. Totally rash and blunt. That rubber screw attack kicks ass, too.
Zoro's still my favorite, though. ::draws Zoro in Painter::
  • He goes left, she goes right, papa's lookin' for mama but mama is nowhere in sight 2002-01-17 18:51:49 I would just like to take this opportunity to say that the One Piece manga rocks my face. Especially Zoro. What insane badass fights with a sword in each hand, and another in his MOUTH?!
Oh my GOD this manga rules. Kept me from getting any work done today.

Go Go Wanpi! I can't wait to find out who Sanji is.
  • I'm in the mood for melody, I'm in the mood for melody, I'm in the mooood 2002-01-17 13:26:41 LOOK! Fanart that's NOT BEBOP! HOLY MOLEY!

    <VENT/WHINE>

I'm so tired and grumpy today. It's gray and drizzly outside - coffee's not waking me up; people keep coming by and staring over my shoulder while I'm working; my hand hurts like hell from making all those badges last night; I can't stop drawing despite my hand hurting, but nothing I draw comes out right... urgh.

Brett's almost done with his music video but I can't come see it because I've got to do more Ushicon work tonight. He's so lucky - he doesn't even have to work during the con... I don't think he knows how stressed I am.
I've got to make the rest of the dealer badges, sort the Artist's Alley applicants, refund those who overpaid for T-shirts, take care of the T-shirt printing, make the program book (and write most of the text in it), sort and run the registration process, send all the "no, sorry, too late" mails to dealers wanting a table like 2 weeks before the con... fuck.

And then hope everything doesn't descend into chaos once the con starts.
I don't think many people realize that this is a first year con, and our budget is MINISCULE. That's why the tiny hotel, that's why no Japanese guests, that's why the photocopied program book. I swear, if I hear one more person wanting to know why we didn't get Hikaru Midorikawa...

And people keep asking me questions about video programming.

I'M NOT THE VIDEO HEAD!! I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO BE WORKING WITHIN 100 FEET OF VIDEO STAFF! ARRRRRGH! THERE'S A "STAFF" SECTION ON THE WEBSITE - READ IT!!
