FINALLY got my KoHD R2 DVD on Saturday afternoon, and...
Ngaaaaah. Glaaaaaghglglgl. Hooooowahhhhhhhhhhh. ::Droool::
So. Much. Detail... So. Much. Pretty. ... Stuff not seen in blurry-ass fansub... cracks on bricks, specks in pavement, reflections in water... ngaaaah.... superdetailed cityscapes. Not to mention all that BRAND NEW FOOTAGE IN THE CLOSING.
Oh... Bliss. Ngaaah.
And if I'm drooling this bad now, it's going to be much worse when the Metropolis DVD comes out.
I haven't finished watching the movie all the way through on the R2 yet, but here's new stuff I noticed (SPOILERS!):
- Superdetailed comm console inside the Redtail = nice
- Damn, the Bebop is all narsty on the inside. Somebody bust out the Comet.
- Ed gets tomato sauce all over her mouth when she eats the ramen - she looks like a clown
- In the fansub you couldn't really see the monorail's door blown out... so now I know how Vincent survived that grenade
- 3 old men are drinking Cokes in old fashioned green glass bottles! Nice touch.
- Dude in Moroccan Street selling dentures!
- Everpresent BIGASS trail o' blood behind Lee's body just makes Faye & Vincent's scene more creepy.
- Fingers digging into ribcage = 10 TIMES more OW-factor with digital sound & picture
- Final fight: Spike wasn't stumbling around aimlessly, he was going for his gun. Makes more sense now. Also didn't notice until now that he actually yarfs when Vincent whacks him one in the stomach. You can see this big string of spit hanging out of his mouth. It's so gross. Awesome.
So all I gotta do now is get that hard drive, and then I can start on my new vi... oh shit, wait, I got all that art to do.
OH YEAH! The thing with Stone Bridge is sealed... my artwork is going to be on a book cover! So if you're at your local comic shop or Barnes & Noble this fall and see a book called "Anime Explosion", that'll be the cover art I'll probably be gnashing my teeth over and wanting to correct. :D
