I wanna grow up to be a funky Euripides

I actually OWE taxes this year! Feh.
And so, the payment I haven't received yet from my freelance work is now already completely gone.
Sigh.
Well, as long as I don't buy anything (like, say, food) at Central, I should be OK...
I re-exported the "strangers" video and it looks FABULOUS now, even on my home machine. Thanks, AD! Thank you, thought bubble!
Of course, I changed the directory name again, since it's had 6 or so downloads already.
I'm so broke I can't think straight.
I gotta go to bed, but my mind's still on standard time. That and I'm back in the AMV Editor's Zone again, so I'm constantly cycling songs in my brain...

Ooh, you're very charming sir / here's to you / I don't wanna know your name / or what you do / I know, here's to... strangers on a train

...and now "Strangers" is as finished as it's going to get. About 30 seconds. Meh. Looks pretty cool though.
I uploaded it to a private directory (Bowler, I just emailed the addy to you). Got some weird interlacing problems, which should NOT be happening with this DVD, but whatever.
I figured out how to do a gaussian blur-fade on a text layer, so I'm happy.

I could really throw one back / such thirst doesn't always permit for tact

Just started "Strangers on a Train". I realized that there's no way I can get the whole song to work, but "the intro is gonna be really cool", so I'm doing the first 20 seconds or so anyway to try out some new text effects. Will probably upload it to my temp dir tonight.
Guhh. So many video layers.
Stupid multilayered sampling sound.

Got to be a chocolate Jesus / it's good enough for me

Well, the evening spent at Sky Lounge wasn't as dreadful as I'd feared. I was dressed up pretty nice so I was feeling way more confident than usual. Wore a low-cut burgundy shirred blouse with top-slit cap sleeves (sort of peasant style), knee length black skirt, strappy black heels, and silver hoop earrings. Kind of a 1982 thing.
Drank a little too much last night - woke up this morning with a splitting headache - thinking I was hung over, I tried to sleep it off, but no such luck: sinus/allergy headache. Brett had it too.
Going through the KoHD disc today and pulling more footage for my video. Still don't have a song picked out for certain, although "Strangers on a Train" is looking more and more interesting. The ending would be problematic, though, with the sexy vocals.
Still wanna do "Bullet the Blue Sky", despite the inappropriateness of it. Maybe I'll just show it to Bowler.
"I Love Beans" has gone over pretty well at chez Yeary.
I'm such a tard.
Watched Frost's "Cowboy Opera" video - Brett downloaded it for me while I was at work on Friday. Impressive! I'd never have had the balls to use that kind of music with an action movie. I'm so scared of long low-key intros, but Frost really did a great job here. I think my favorite part was the cut to the red lights on the first dramatic note.
I'll save the rest for his review.
Went to Waterloo Friday afternoon and picked up "Rei Momo" and "Wanna Buy a Monkey?" I'm not too impressed with the latter, with the exception of the Tortoise and Air remixes towards the middle of the disc. "Rei Momo" is excellent, however. Favorite tracks are "The Rose Tattoo" and "Marching Through the Wilderness". The latter is SO freaking Perry Como.
Also, the album version of "Make Believe Mambo" is a lot softer and calmer than the NY Mix on the Luaka Bop compilation disc.
Anyway, listening to RM, I had another "well, shit" moment. If I'd only had that disc last summer, I'd have done a MUCH different video. Dunno if I'll ever have the MaD Sk!LLz to do an AMV with a Mozambique beat, though.
