    Since it's for the Bebop fansite, I only go in depth on the Bebop-related stuff there.

    Stuff I didn't mention in the con report:
    - Nekkid Rei. How on EARTH does someone think that this is a good idea?!
    - Scary-ass Kaiser helmet Jet. Brr.
    - Semicircle of 5 fanboys on Sunday whose collective personal odours so closely resembled Oak Mountain Amphitheatre's public restrooms during a 98-degree day at a Phish concert that after a single whiff I involuntarily yelped, "JESUS CHRIST!" and skittered to the other end of the room.
    - RED DRESS OF DOOM. I love this dress. When I put it on and checked the mirror before going out, I went, "Please, Mr. Spade, you have to believe me - I didn't kill my husband - I was FRAMED!! (DUN DUN DUNNNNN!)" Did I mention I love this dress?
    - Where the heck was Joe Croasdaile? I didn't see him at all!
    - Lupin Twilight Gemini dub SUCKS ASS.
    - I've decided that my rampant consumption of gin at cons will be replaced by rampant consumption of diet Pepsi and udon.
    - Although it was fun to buy Sominex at the gift shop Sunday (I had insomnia all weekend), yawn, and when the clerk remarked, "you don't look like you need that", to answer, "no, that's just the gin making me yawn."
    - I'm sure the Japanese guests were all horrified by Scott Frazier sticking bottlecaps to his nipples... but damn if that wasn't funny.

  • I found my nerve and a good place to hide 2002-04-17 12:17:54 This time tomorrow, I'll be on a plane to Chicago, my heart all aflutter at the prospect of seeing old friends and making new ones - or maybe just from the airline coffee.

    Looking forward to meeting sgoast, l e j u n, and folks I have not seen before. Looking forward to Anime Hell and all the massive-ass parties. Looking forward to joking around with Bruce and Mo.

    Looking forward to fainting in a dead heap when I finally meet Toshihiro Kawamoto (I've loved his art ever since Gundam 0083 came out in Japan; Bebop just capped it), and looking forward to Bruce's inevitable speech to snap me out of it. (Long, vulgar but amusing story.)

    So, no new journal entries for the next 5 days or so. Y'all are spared.
