I love sharing rare MP3s. Even if I can only do it for a few hours.

Come to me, delicious sax solo...
Had a terrific night last night. There's something just RIGHT about a hot and muggy day turning into a cool and hazy twilight... cruising down 360, the Indian blanket swaying in the wind, while "Rainy Night in Georgia" blares out of the radio.
::Contented sigh::
I had something else to say but that live Tank! MP3 came up in my playlist again and that sax solo ate my brains.

Otoko wa mado no nai heya de kami ni inoru...

Doh. Wrote an entry and lost it to a crash.
Well, last night I managed to semi-salvage one of the previously mentioned digital pieces-o-crap, and it stands about a 50/50 chance of actually working. The title sequence looks really nice, though I'll have to rework it to come in on the beat (I tried having it on half-beats and it just looked wrong).
The song's in alternating 5/8 - 7/8 time, so it's going to be a BITCH to edit to, but I've got a pulse-pattern set up that works pretty well.
God help me, I'm altering color balances in my clips to make them adhere visually. The trick here will be making the transition from blue tones to warm tones as the song builds, since I don't want it to feel "cold" all the way through.
(I'm such an design-obsessive tard.)
Exported about 45 seconds' worth of video (about 5~6 hours' work) to .avi.. was going to encode to MPEG1 and upload for beta-ing to my temp dir today, but I kinda... got sidetracked. Ehehehehe.
Hsien, I'm probably going to ask you to beta this one for me, since I know you'll like the song.
Also got started on BTBS (which I've decided to call "Project Blasphemy")... got through to the guitar intro on that, but I think it looks kinda dumb. Need more footage.
Grbrrrblaaah.

I just spent the past 6 hours working in Premiere, and made two big SQUISHY STINKY DIGITAL TURDS.
>_<
I don't think I'm going to have a new video for Jacon.
*Sigh*
Oh well. At least I tried out a new titling method and learned how to do that. Too bad the results SUCKED.
FAK YOH, BEBOP MOVIE!! FFAAAAAK YOOOOOOOOO!!! WHY CAN'T YOU GO WELL WITH A THOUSAND DIFFERENT SONGS LIKE YOUR TV SERIES?! FAAAAKKK YOOOOOOo!!

Heh - check this out.
Pulling more clips for my KoHD video (for which I have not yet picked a song, I might add).
Anyone remember MANGAJIN magazine?

Cowboys and angels / They all have the time for you / Why should I imagine / That I'd be a find for you

Tonight I am going to go to Best Buy and get a copy of "Listen Without Prejudice". I'd go to Waterloo, but I'd get laughed out of the store.
Maybe it's at Cheapo.
I've been stuck on "Cowboys and Angels" all day, but it's been 12 years since I heard that song, and I only remember the first 2 bars of the chorus.
Speaking of cowboys (sort of,) I'm trying Photoshop speedpainting for the first time (7 minutes left!). Decided to do one of Spike since I'm used to drawing that character - BIG MISTAKE. This method does NOT translate well onto anime characters - it's very much meant for the 3D world only.
I'm seriously digging it, though, and will probably do more from photoreference next week. I'll probably do that ballerina pic this way.
Speedpainting basically works like this: you can use PS or Painter (although it's more vibrant in PS), and you start out by laying down your background color... then lay down your flat color for your forms. ***You are not allowed to draw any outlines** - you can only use color and value to build your form. as you block out the form more and more clearly, you decrease your brush size to add detail.
Keep your brush set to about 60-80% opacity and just go. Keep your hand loose and free.
Most speedpainting exercises are supposed to take 30 minutes, so that's what I allotted for my first try.
I had to Google the song lyrics for this subject header, and now I'm stuck on "They Won't Go When I Go". *sigh*
OK, been workin' for thirty minutes. (4:15 to now, with time out for journalling and email). Here's my first speed-painting (I went in order from brush sizes 35 (custom hard), 19, 13, 9, 5, 3):

Or, if you prefer...

I can't wait to try this paint method with photoreference. I wanna paint William H. Macy. His face is ideal for this.
BAH!! I LEAVE WORK NOW!!
