Hmm. Rope, or cement shoes...? Life is full of decisions.

    >_<
  • Ai wo kikasete / ashita ga soba ni aru to shinjitai 2002-05-01 17:29:40 Well, I was gonna do kiri-ban art for my 20,000th journal hit, but I missed it while I was working on that gift art for the Bebop site.

So, go gitcha sum wallpaper, I guess:

Or, have this lovely MP3 (which I really DID upload just for you guys):
    big-big-truck.com/temp/shizuka_kudou-koewokikasete.mp3

Mmm, J-pop/Memphis Gospel fusion. So bad it's good.

My brain's still fried from all the effort that went into that picture. And I'm still not satisfied with the ground. On the other hand, Photoshop's Smudge tool is like... the acquaintance I met 6 years ago and wrote off, and just now discovered how wonderful it is. Highlights on hair are infinitely better and easier now that I've played with that sucker. Oh, and cigarette smoke? W00T!! Semitransparent airbrush + smudge tool = SMOKE. Bam.

    God, I'm such a nerd.

Uhh, what was I... oh yeah, the MP3.
See, I used to do tape exchanges (back before everybody and their brother had a CD burner) with some kids in Japan when I was in high school. (I might add that this is how I initially got introduced to Spitz, the Boom, and Southern All Stars).
There was this one guy, Toshi, who lived in Nagano... he was really into R&B, as I recall, and made this great mix for me once... Toshinobu Kubota, NOKKO, Scha-dara-parr, etc.. but my favorite track was "Koe wo Kikasete" (the MP3 linked above). Unfortunately, I lost the tape when I moved to college, and forgot the name of the artists on most of it.
Did a search for "Koe wo Kikasete" on Audiogalaxy last night, just out of curiosity, and came up with music from some anime... but there, buried in the last page, was the song I hadn't heard since high school.

    Hooray for the Internet!

Oh wait, did that have a point?
    No?

    OK, never mind.

::goes into a corner to contemplate kyburg's 'potato' post::

  • I've never seen anything more beautiful than the eyes in the side of Gina's head 2002-05-01 12:24:45 I went ahead and removed "The Worst Video Ever" since it's already had something like 50-60 downloads.

    People read this journal? O_O;

Hsien: Thanks. I don't know if that video's going anywhere, but I'll keep working on it until it's not fun anymore.
  • Sacred cows are headed for the slaughter... sacred chickens pecking cement 2002-05-01 11:08:58 AD: Yeah, it only took me about 20 minutes to make that video, but I still had to bathe in Radiohead afterwards, in order to Purge The Wrong.

Don't worry, the AMV I'm actually putting *effort* into is very much non-Wrong. It's all artsy-fartsy and no one will like it, but at least it's not Wrong.

  • and it's hard to love / there's so much to hate / hang on to hope / when there is no hope to speak of 2002-05-01 10:07:19 Amizadai: See, I'm granted immunity from punishment for stuff like that because I'm posessed by SATAN.

You know an AMV is Wrong when you CRINGE while making it and have to look at the screen out of the corner of your eye in order to edit and your boyfriend's roommate is wondering what that cackling noise from the office is...

    P.S. I'm sorry. m(_ _)m
