JOURNAL: Big Big Truck (E K)

  • there's a monkey in the jungle / watching a vapor trail / caught up in the battle / between his brain and his tail 2002-05-03 14:14:34 Sorry, no MP3s or videos today; that new Bebop wallpaper is rather popular - which is good - but it also means that I'm pulling roughly 1 to 1.5 GB a day, so no new goodies until the traffic dies down.
When it does, I have another live Seatbelts track to share; this one's about 8 minutes of just Yoko Kanno on the piano.

James Lileks is now officially the master of Wrong. And I quote:

"...there are 15,427 Clifford books, right down to" Clifford the Big Red Dog is Put Down and the Smoke from the Crematorium Blackens the Skies for Three Days"..."

Actually, the whole Bleat today is great. I still remember some of those awful books I had in the late 70's and early 80's. (Note: EK is OLD AS DIRT)

Whoa, Jasper looks like XXL Bob-Dog!

Gaah. That Gnat movie is making my innards make this vaguely clock-like ticking sound.
'Scuse me, I have to go listen to a baby screech like a banshee, let it pull my hair, and remind myself how much quiet free time I need, ALONE, on a daily basis, before I turn into a pile of hormonal mush.

Or I could just publicize this lovely little link:

    "Saruman's Axis of Evil". Snerk.

Design Nerdness, since K10K's back up:

"A creative graphical interface WITHOUT Flash?? The hell you say" Yes, you web designers, it IS possible:

  • take me to another place / take me to another land 2002-05-03 10:42:52 Bowler: possumtoy.com? Cool - that's Curtis, an old high school friend of mine from back home. He's got a really cool style. I haven't seen his site since it was under construction; I'll go check it out again.

MexJr: Thanks so much!! Man, I haven't heard that song in about 10 years... wow... I still remember the music video with that cool rotating calendar.

Now I gotta go hunt down all that old rap music I used to listen to... KMD, 2 Kings in a Cipher, Arrested Development... good stuff.

Well, so far Mozilla has been good to me. I did a custom install so as not to take up too much space. It's crashed twice so far upon loading input forms, but ohhh... it loads everything so fast and delicious.
  • 2002-05-02 22:01:01 Y'know, I really should quit making AMVs and just make title sequences. They're so much more fun.
  • my therapist said not to see you no more / she says you're like a disease without any cure 2002-05-02 16:11:49 MexJr: Thanks so much! I added you to my AIM buddy list. (And my Journal list.) I'm JobsTurkey.

Amizadai and Iserlohn: I take it y'all have both seen "The Wonderful, Terrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl"? It's an incredible documentary. Her film of the 1934 Olympics is just dazzling.

Hsien: Really? Wow... for some reason I thought "Ugly Girl" was your 3rd or 4th video.
    No pressure on beta feedback - I'm still tweaking it (I'm waiting until exporting the final .avi to crop off the black borders in VDub, so please disregard those. ^^;
I noticed the transition from the last landscape shot into the vocals is a bit sudden... meh. I'm still not sure if I'm ever going to finish that thing, so... whatever. I'm just working on it as inspiration strikes.

AD: Thanks for the MP3. It really reminds me of "The Door Into Summer" for some reason. Must be the harpsichord.
  • Is it any wonder I can't sleep? / all I have is all you gave to me 2002-05-02 14:34:11 MexicanJunior: I can't use Member Search on this computer (stupid Mac, stupid MSIE), and I don't have your journal bookmarked in my buddy list yet - did you happen to respond re: Kid Frost? Just curious.

Hsien: Really? I've been making AMVs longer than you? That doesn't sound right, somehow... my first one was in fall 1998. I think we started around the same time. Maybe? o_o
By the way, I found another new song to try out for the KoHD video. I swear... this video is like, the EK Picking Out Songs From Hsien's CD Rack video. I'm not that big of a fan of this band as you are, but the song just seems to work with the anime, albeit in a weird way.

kyburg: well, we did it all by post, too - I didn't even lay eyes on a web browser window or email client until my Senior year in high school. (Which is kind of funny, because I used to do a hell of a lot of programming.)
Umm ...Angel piece? Oh, you mean "Angel from Montgomery".
    Silly forum crossover.
    Hee.
"Stylish, practical, and not at all gay." Best. Line. EVER.

AbsoluteDestiny: Thanks, I'll try to find something Fun! And! Exciting! to put up today. I have a really great MP3 to share, but it's over 10 MB so I couldn't keep it up long.

Rar. Hungry. Me go eat falafel.
