JOURNAL: Big Big Truck (E K)

  • So if I say save me, save me, be the light in my eyes 2002-06-11 13:15:29 FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
In the process of transferring all the ripped KoHD .avi files from the F: drive to the new 100GB HD, ALL WERE LOST.
    Fuck fuck fuckeroony fuckdiddy fuckerdoodle.

God's telling me not to do this video.

    <Cartman voice> Screw you, God!</Cartman>

On the other hand, I have some FLCL VOBs waiting for me in the apartment package office. If it were, you know OPEN when it was supposed to be. (Did I mention I'm looking forward to moving?)
So maybe soon there'll be a nice awful FLCL vid from me that everyone can hate. Yay for 20 year old songs!
  • 2002-06-11 11:44:19 Wow, that was one massive freakin' update. x_x
  • Yo it's three thousand thirty / I want y'all to meet Deltron Zero 2002-06-11 09:49:01 MP3 is down now. (woo, it was up a whole day!)

Xenodrake: Thank you! I'll try to check soon. I have to read them on Brett's computer, since they freeze up the Mac and take too long to load on my 56k at home. :-)

1337H4X0R has decided that my black leather purse and its henchmen, The Keys, are his mortal enemies. They were duking it out in an EPIC BIG BATTEL this morning while I did my makeup. Yes, mornings in Chez BBT are excitement a-go-go.

Can't wait to move out of this apartment. It was fine for a year and a half, but all of a sudden maintenance isn't doing their job, the courtesy officer doesn't enforce shit (like, say, people being loud in the hot tub right underneath my window at 2 am, when the pool CLOSES at 10), and the new neighbors have this nice habit of wandering out in their skivvies to hork loogies on the shrubbery below.

    Gehh.

    I'm old.

Might be getting Painter 7 soon for the Mac. Woo!
  • she don't use nothing you buy at the store / she uses tangerines 2002-06-10 14:09:04 If you like "Tank!" "What Planet Is This" and/or the "Peter Gunn" theme, get this MP3 immediately:

ROAR. The world needs more cowbells. And bari saxophones.

  • and we gonna smoke an ounce to that 2002-06-10 10:52:33 Vlad: A good editor never sleeps! :D

This weekend was pretty good. I plopped down $205 for a new 100 GB HD and two swap cases and some power cables... Brett's still setting it up, I think.
Also got new comics (or cawmiks, as 'Day says):
    - Stray Bullets #25: Oh shit shit shit, just when I thought no more crap could hit the fan. Wow. These characters keep getting more and more tangled up. And I still can't decide if I like Beth.
    - Strangers in Paradise #50: I'm so happy that Terry Moore has finally gotten the story back on track (as of about 5 issues ago). I hope he can keep this up. The gratuitous gags still rub me the wrong way sometimes, though.
    - Super Manga Blast: Meh, the usual. I love "Club 9" and "Shadow Star", but "3x3 Eyes" just bores me. Because I'm weird. I'm surprised to see that "Seraphic(Boobies) Feather(Boobies)" is actually developing some sort of plot. (!!)
    - Animerica: Nothing I didn't know already. Why do I still subscribe to this? I don't know. I should cancel.
    - Peach Girl vol 4: This is the last volume I read in Japanese. I think TP did a pretty decent job, but I wish they'd ditch that godawful lettering. They did a good job lettering the Bebop comics... why not this?
    - Reevaluating my opinion of DK2: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOUR FIGURE DRAWING SKILL, MR. MILLER?! Also peeved to notice the BLATANT COPY of a Bill Plympton caricature of Ted Koppel in issue #2. BOOOO!!! I still like the wild coloring job, but really. Heads are not the size of torsos. Pssh.

Saturday night culminated in a TREMENDOUS ORGY OF TRIGUN DVD WATCHING. (Wow, that sounds disturbing.) Eight episodes in a row. While that doesn't sound like much, keep in mind I can't even watch that much Bebop. And yes, I still have not finished Trigun because I'm a late bloomer that way.
Funny thing is, I loved the series up until about episode 10, then forced myself to hang on through episode 15... then I was like, "god, this is going waaay downhill. I give up." But Brett got the last 3 DVDs cheap recently, so we started with #16 (the last ep on DVD 5) while he waited for the new HD to format and for all my .avi files to move onto it.
HOLY SHIT. It was like someone had given Trigun a big phat injection of GOOD. I'm so glad we didn't give up entirely on that show. Episodes 17 and 23 owned me, as did Chapel the Evergreen. Damn. I'm loving it. Two more episodes left to go...

Also saw One Piece #1 last night - wow, that show starts differently from the manga.

I have a song I really want to share today but I need to find a decent MP3 encoder for Mac OS9. Audion has this lovely habit of encoding 2/3 of a song and then crashing my computer.
