JOURNAL: Big Big Truck (E K)

  • Take me home, what a wonderful way to go 2002-10-02 18:14:46 SushiboyJared: it was indeed Avalanches. The album title is "Since I Left You". :

Track 14 is the best. The samples on Amazon don't do this album justice.

The other CD I was totally whoring out was Lovage:

Jennifer Charles = sexiest voice EVAR

I should start posting MP3s here again.

You too? Whenever I read forum posts and journals now it's like they're being read to me by whoever wrote them. Hee!
Same thing happens when I read comics (I always imagined David Lucas would voice Captain Kuro in One Piece...)

  • "I asked for cake and I got a giant piece of chocolate firewood!" 2002-10-01 10:52:34 Wow. This year at AWA I utterly failed to not suck. (to paraphrase Megatokyo).

Brett and I got in from Atlanta around 10 pm last night - our flight was delayed 3 times.

    Anime junk:
    - Got a peek at the English Newtype - good stuff.
    - picked up Trigun Maximum 4-7 and some One Piece doujinshi
    - Also, looks like KoHD will be showing at the Austin Film Festival. SCORE!!!!

Tim: thank you for the Impudence.
AD & Jbone: I had a great time hanging out with you guys in the bar Saturday.
Hsien: sorry for fucking up the panel T-T
Quu: sorry for fucking up the player T-T
Everyone who came to our panel: I'm sorry. But weren't Hsien's videos great? So it wasn't a complete waste.
    Everyone else: I'm sorry.

    Thanks to all who put up with me ^^;

Except the two people who pissed me off this year:

    - To the fanboy with the "hur-hur" laugh who tried to stick his camcorder down my cleavage after I told him not to videotape me: I remember what you look like and if you do it again, I will take your scrotum, grind it into a fine powder, THEN detach it from you and give it to a Chinese herbalist to be sold as a tea that cures boils.

    - To the guy with the ponytail who was at me & Hsien's panel: yes, I know I suck. But if you want to make remarks about what a shitty artist I am, here's a tip - maybe you should check if the person you're griping to is actually my boyfriend. Ha ha. Joke's on you! :P
Congrats on getting kicked out of the DD Party for being a creepy stalker.

I had a really great time this year, but I plan on a few things:
    1. Going to have an Artist's Alley table so I'm not always running around.
    2. Going to drink a lot of coffee so I can stay up and not miss everything
    3. Going to have actual completed music videos
    4. Not going to do VAT panels and such - I was honored, but that spotlight belongs to those who deserve it

I've got to shake my neurosis about crowds. I kind of freaked out a few times this weekend (the worst was when I about had a panic attack and had to go lie down -- missing the Pro and Masters showing) when people were just not paying attention to others around them and blocking traffic.
See, I have NIGHTMARES about being trapped in one place or being restrained. It's hard for me to even go grocery shopping on a weekend because it's so difficult to move around... so being in the events hall on Saturday afternoon was really hard.

Also realized I was backing away from a lot of people and putting my guard up when it wasn't necessary. I guess a big part of it was being overly cautious about giving the wrong impression, or bugging people :/
There's more to that, but since I'm not sure who reads this journal I'm not about to plunk my brain up in it for all to see.

Anyway, like I said, all the videos this year were great, the dinner at Kiku was a blast, and I had a fantastic time meeting everyone, both for the first time and for the fourth, fifth...
Thank you all for being so kind and hospitable. I am truly grateful.
