Since I have nothing interesting to talk about right now, here's some art I did for the Bebop site yesterday after work:

I don't know if we're in a garden / or on a crowded avenue

Listened to the Charlie Parker CD on the way in to work today. IT F'ING RULES. Whoever compiled and released these tracks didn't clean them up, so they're all nice and gritty and lo-fi.
I know that sort of thing generally doesn't go over well with the AMV crowd, but I looooove listening to music that was originally released on vinyl ON VINYL. Like Creedence. Creedence rules. I wanted to make a Various vid to "It Came Out of the Sky" a few years ago, but nothing ever came of it.
I wonder if there's a way to get audio into .wav format from an LP.
I can't think of anything interesting to say O_O

You better look out because I'm gonna say fuck

Do not be fooled by his mild, avuncular manner and winning smile. Jet Black will fuck you up.
There, I did it, just like I promised.

Wow, what a weekend.
Bruce, Mundee and Ed came into town for Fire Ant Frolic... Friday we went out to Hai Ky and had pho, then went to Ocean's 11 and had the big geeky anime conversation over drinks. Bartender messed up so I got a free Glenlivet on the rocks.
Saturday we all went to the Capitol and the Texas History Museum, then had BBQ at Ironworks (mmmm), then hit Waterloo and Amy's. Despondent at the prospect of no more Seatbelts CD releases, I got a Charlie Parker CD to ease the pain. Also picked up "Escape This" by 4Hero, "Picture of Nectar" by Phish, and "Sounds of Silence" by S&G. Was going to get "Dummy" by Portishead and "Revolver" (my fav Beatles album, next to the White Album), but...
(Oh, and Brett got "Lonelyland", so I think I may be starting on that Bob Schneider video soon. My last AMV taught me never to use MP3 source again. OUCH!!)
After that, we went to the dance, then to Ruta Maya. Traffic was terrible because of the UT homecoming game, and on Saturday downtown was packed with prettyskinnypeople in tubetops and heavy eyeliner.
Yesterday we all went out to Enchanted Rock and hiked it up & down about an hour or two before sunset. Had a disappointing schnitzel later in Fredericksburg, then drove back to the house and watched the live-action Tick pilot.
Bruce, Mundee & Ed headed home to Dallas, and then the rest of us chilled out and watched Adult Swim. Space Ghost has officially gotten too weird for me. Also, Jet Black is now my favorite animated character. Ever.
Hee... when that scene in "Black Dog Serenade" came up, we all sang "think of meeee what you will / I've got a little space to fill..."
I showed ErMaC's "Cowboy Blues" video to some friends from Houston a while back, and they watched it 3 times over right then and there ^_^
I got sunburned when we were at the Capitol...
I need coffee. This journal entry reads like a "what I did last summer" essay from 5th grade.
I hereby promise to use the words "fuck" and "avuncular" in my next post.

the man in the looking glass / is looking back at you at last

Kwasek: Well, I'd like to use Eva TV series footage and set it to "8.6.82" off "Stereopathetic Soulmanure", just because I think it'd be funny, and because it would probably make the most screwed up AMV EVER, if I did it the way I want to.
As for "Fucked Up Day", Brett says I should just show the last 10 seconds of End of Eva, then have the credits roll with that song playing instead of "Thanatos". Hee. Maybe I'll do it, maybe I won't.
The song I'm actually going to do a big project with is off of "Odelay", and that's all I'm sayin'. :-)
All my AMVs this go-round are going to be pretty unusual, looks like... :/
Made 2 new Bebop wallpapers yesterday.
On the freelance front: working on giftart for Dan Fu while I wait for Larry to get back to me with last-minute Nekocon work. Next up, Brad's DVD cover and that thing for Hsien, then a project I might not be able to mention here, then a children's book illo. Mah plate's full, momma!
Speaking of which, I desperately miss butterbeans. The restaurants out here claim to have butterbeans, but they're just limas cooked in butter. HERESY! I'm just going to have to fly up to Mary Bobo's myself and get some.
At least they still know how to make cornbread in Texas.
