Last night was NUTS. Rain pelted down all over Austin throughout the day, and by 5 pm many of the streets were flooded. Down Shoal Creek, cars were half-submerged.
Rather than deal with the horrid traffic, I waited the storm out... stayed at the office till 7 drawing (I'm still all puffed up over the Pulp Fiction picture, because I actually managed to pull off 4 light sources. I'm going to hate that pic in 3 months, but... oh well) Even so, it took me over an hour to get home (and I work less than 15 miles from my house). I was coming down Guadalupe at 4th and was thinking, "gee, I don't remember there being a median here..." because there WASN'T. An enormous tree had fallen right in the middle of the road.
This morning Lamar was down to one lane while crews cleared collected mud and gravel away.
Bad craziness.
