Dokidoki: I am so with you on the "surprise" thing. I really can't take anyone seriously if they confuse your/you're, its/it's, there/their/they're, etc.
I'm not advocating B-mod in relationships, but I am glad I got Brett to stop saying "nuke-you-lar". ^_~
So anyway, Thanksgiving was pretty good. Being the superintelligent person that I am, I decided to drink 3 beers and do 4 vodka shots last night, KNOWING FULL WELL that I had to get up at 8 to go to Brett's mom's house. I ended up sleeping about an hour on the couch, despite a high noise level and repeated tramplings (well, more like pitter-patterings) from a miniature Italian greyhound.
Recovered from my hangover, I proceeded to eat a plateful of dee-licious home Cajun cookin', then received a marvellous backrub from Brett... and fell asleep in my chair again.
We hung out with the fam for about another 4 hours, then set out in search of PIE. Brett's sister had tried a new recipe for strawberry pie, but upon completion, she took one taste, grimaced, and declared it unfit for Weaver family consumption.
So we went on our Pie Quest, and found the one cafe in Houston that was still open. Brett had strawberry pie, I had French Blackbottom pie (which is like French Silk pie, but with rum custard on top), and coffee. My sweet tooth ust be diminishing by half every couple of years or so, because I could only eat half my pie. (A slice of pie, not a whole pie...)
Returned to casa Valenator, where Buffy reruns abound, and Doug's playing Civ III while Simon & Garfunkel's "Cecilia" plays on Winamp. It's DAMN FUNNY to see those little Persian laborers chukkin' around to the rhythm.
All in all, a good day.
Oh, and...

>_<
Someone kill me.
I NEED something to do at work. Like, yesterday.
I just made an effed-up Bebop version of Norman Rockwell's "Freedom From Want".
God.
I need an injection of originality before I wither.

Kiriban's up on BBT Bebop. Large version's on the Gallery page.
I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, even tho Spike's face is sort of long.
Had Lard Nha for lunch - there was a load of cornstarch in the sauce. Nast. I hate when they do that. I couldn't finish it and now I'm hungry.
Bored bored bored...

Things are going pretty well today.
Found out I lost 3 pounds, which is cool.
Going to try and finish & upload a kiriban before the Bebop site reaches 10,000 hits. It's turning out really well so far.
Despite what I said in a previous post, I do love Painter. Except when it corrupts 8+ MB RIFF files.
David Byrne is doing another show here on the 29th, but I'm not sure I can go... Brett's Jeep died (again) and he has to be in Houston on the 30th to record for Excel Saga.
It's FINALLY cold here! Feels good.
Pleh. Not much to say today.

Seijin_dinger: Yup, I use Mac OS9 at work and Win98 at home. Win2000 for working in Premiere. (Drawing at work?!! Yeah, I got next to nothin' to do nwo that the semester's winding down...)
Just got back from the Harry Potter movie. Sure was pretty to look at, but I was disappointed.
Heyyy, don't look at me like that! I know a body needs good veggies and vitamins to survive, but sometimes you want FRITOS. And CHOCOLATE. In the same vein, a mind needs good literature, like Kundera and Joyce, but sometimes I just want JUNK FOOD, and that would be Harry Potter.
Overall, though, the movie struck me as a less-inspired Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Visualy, everything was true, but the actors just weren't in it, and the SFX were pretty terrible (by today's standards) in some places.
Ahh well.
On the topic of weird dreams, I usually have extremely strange dreams, though I can't remember many lately. I did have one last night that there was a showing of the Bebop movie in Huntland, TN in the middle of December. Brett and I drove up to see it.
Nell Carter was there and was hosting the showing. We walked into this little concrete room, and there was a cooler full of punch or something, and we got punch and cookies and went in to see the film. There were some flaws with the print and sound, but I remember the movie being cool, basically. The main problem was that after we left the "theatre", snow was falling, and it was unsafe to drive Hwy. 72 back home. So we had to find a place to stay for the night.
Well, I'm gonna go now because I'm kind of drunk. Please forgive the many grammar errors... I'm sure I've made plenty.
