yep, i cant use my computer. My HD which had my Os on it died so I went and purchased a new 100gb(ata100) HD to replace it. Well, I already new my mobo only supported ata33(/laugh now/) but I have a Promise ata133 controller so I planned to just use that. Well I get it and im start the Win2k installation. It says to press f6 if u need to install a controller driver, so i do. I install the driver for the promise controller, and it says there are no hard drives attached. WTF!
After spending probably about a full 24 hours (not straight) trying to make it work, I finally decide to just by a new mobo. a cheap one at that. As long as it works.
So my computer is busted right now. (obviously im on a different comp)

999 journal hits. Im sure this will knock it over.
Well my HD which has my OS on it is acting up again. Half the time when I start up my computer, it doesn't even register the drive as being connected. Other times, I will get an error on startup say "Windows 2000 cannot start blah blah blah this file here is corrupt or missing blah blah blah"
Oh, and ofcourse, there's that evil clicking sound from time to time. Its about to go. Guess I will go buy another ata133 80GB drive to replace it. I dont wanna buy a new drive ;(
