Happy Holidays!!

Happy whatever and many more!
I've been busy.. I bought myself a bunch of new toys.. and I think I'm done spending money on expensive things until the end of next year (2004). =)
Okay well that might not be true.. I do have to spend a bit more on some other stuff.. to make all that R.A.P. J-Music Video-video server stuff work out..
Um.. just an FYI to anyone who cared... There will be a showing at OhayoCon 2003.. January 10th thru the 12th. I will also be there in semi-full effect, hanging out with a few of you AMVers if you're there.. and such.
Okay.. time for evil planning! BwhahahHHAhahahHAhahHAHahhaahaha =D

I just want to make one thing clear..

When I judge, or review an AMV or GMV or whatever.. I leave my personal biases at the door. I always look for something positive in an AMV/GMV. Always!
If you ask me to review a GMV or Dragonball Z video, I'll do it with no personal bias. I realize, even if I don't personally like the anime or game, doesn't mean the video is automatically bad. I've seen a few amusing Dragonball Z vids.. I just don't personally like Dragonball Z, and that fact there are so many videos on the subject, just make me like DBZ a little bit less each time the number grows by leaps and bounds.
But this is a problem I have with all animes that get too over-obsessed. I realize this is my issue, and no one elses. But what pisses me off the most is when creators get into these pissing-contest/wars over things like DBZ and such.
So when people try to get me in the middle that.. I only have two presents for them.. ..|.., (0.0), ..|.., I hope this explains my frustration with all of this. BUt please keep in mind, if I judge your vid, I'm certainly not being biased. In fact I saw a pretty good one in one of the AWA contests this year. So there! (0.0), ..|.., Ha! =)
Okay [bitchmode] = [off]. I've said my piece once again.

Yeah, this is why I don't download them.
You missed the point, I was commenting people shouldn't make this GMV combination. However that's never stopped anyone... especially now that I've given people the idea; especially for people who whant to spite me now. =P
Now as far as my comment goes about not being able to download them.. that really has to do with the lot of DBZ videos that are quoted by their creator to be "the best DBZ video ever!!" and it's not available for download. So that's what I was poking fun at. .
Long ago I tried to give DBZ AMVs a chance and review them without my biased dislike.. but a lot of them were never available for download. So now I poke fun about that.. deservingly so.. if you think you have the best DBZ video.. then I think the least the cretor could do is try to make the AMV available for download. Best that's just my opinion on the subject, and it's not just specific to DBZ videos.

PS2 Z

Okay.. if its not already known.. I'm not a big fan of DB Z. But the first person who makes an AMV to the new Dragonball Z game.. GOD HELP US ALL!
I mean come on people.. first.. Dragonball Z? Could you really have to something more to offer than the other 1269 LinkinBall Z AMVs out there already?!? What about game AMVs? Do you really consider game footage anime? I mean in some cases anime is in inspired by a game (pokemon) or the anime becomes a game.. but they're not really the same.. I'm sorry I don't mean to offend.. but I just think game "AMVs" if you can call them that.. are one of the weakest forms or "anime". It's not really an AMV to me.. it's more like a GMV (game music video).
Anyhow, for the LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THINGS SANE AND PURE please DO NOT make a DragonBall/LinkinBall Z GMV!
/me waits for the 400 GMVs to come in that he can't download ever.
Okay I've said my piece.

Extremely off the mark
2002-12-05 13:50:21
Umm the extreme tracker.. is extremely not acurate. I know this, because my weblogs (for my main website) and my dns stats show far larger results then what the "extreme tracker" (the saturn graphic image) reports.
Anyhow.. to keep me motivated in web-programming I've created/taken on a small "lack-luster" web app project.
I've always have had SprintPCS as a cell carrier and phone type.. so recently due to Service Plan simplifications (once again, thank god) they're back to their simple anytime minutes free and clear stuff.. anyhow.. I've been meaning to get a new phone.. a bit.. umm.. more webby and gamey (for traveling).. and at the spur of the moment I bought myself a holiday (soon to be birthday) present.. Anyhow, a long-long story-short (which is taking longer than expected).. I bought one of those new PCS vision phones.
Anyhow.. they only downside with all the new PCS Vision Service is all download-able stuff (apps, ringers, images) can "only" be downloaded through their service.. or so that's what they want you to believe. Being the persistance and stubborn bastard I can be.. I couldn't except that.. and started researching development options.
So all of this backstory brings me to my new (but small) "lack-luster" web application that I've been working on for the last few nights.. I'vr been building something I call "Vision Loader" and it lets you upload (.mid, .wav, .qcp, .jpg, .png and .bmp) sized files for your PCS Vision Phones.. and puts them into a system and library that you can easily retrieve/send/download to your phone.
Once I'm done with this initial phase.. I'll extend it for other phone types, like nokia and siemens and such.. once I figure out their download systems, methods and architecture. Anyhow.. that's the latest with me. At the moment this is just snowy programming diversion. In the near future I plan on extending it to have support (.jad and .jar) java/jme2 midlet/apps.
Eventually my main website will benefit from this coding activity.. when I get around to integrating the image gallery into the site, I'll also provide a way to send a phone-sized image (from the gallery of course) to your phones.. but that will probably be a member only feature.. since like everything else.. it generates lot's of web traffic (which I pay for by the GB).
Okay enough ranting.. back to programming! Ja-ne! -Dji
