[open quote]
"It's an era when self-restraint will be more appreciated than self-expression."
[/end quote]
That's a very good point they make.. I've experienced that a lot myself and with others.. However I hope that doesn't discourage people from wanting to express themselves.
Video projects for me are still fun.. whether they're AMVs or not. If they're not fun, then whats the point?! I think the only thing people get mixed up with me, is I'm very driven at just about everything I do; professionally and at non-professional things. I like to approach things the best way I can.. and I have fun at learning and being challenged.. again professionally and at non-profressional things... and I always take that seriously.. but I still have fun working on the projects.
I mean..if you have to trim the hedges in your back yard, would you go and buy scissors that cut paper, or go to a garden store and buy hedge clippers? (rhetorical question) Obviously, I'd prefer the latter. Why waste time doing things wrong or sloppy when you can take a little bit of time and effort to do something right.. and have fun while working on the project.
That's just my opinion.. I could be wrong.. I know I'm not =) but I could be.. (I'm not) heheh =_)

New capture card..
2003-06-05 12:42:00
I think it's time to upgrade to a new one.. now I'm not going to go all out this round.. I'm still going to buy a canopus at some point.. but for right now I've ordered a dv500dvd.. I hope that will keep in happy for a bit.. I just need to update to a newer level of capture card technology that is more current.. cause my dc30 is still a good card, but is showing it's technology age with a few things that are finally getting on my nerves.
Time to upgrade. =/

I added a new AMV..
2003-05-23 21:12:03
Well technically its an old AMV.. one of my first attempts.. to make a really long story short.. I found it sometime last year.. captured it from a crappy VHS work tape.. and encoded it last night and then uploaded it here and to my website.
The video was created in the long before time, way way before my "first AMV" (the VPM one) was ever created. I never released or entered these "pre-first" videos into any contests because I didn't like them.. and they were my first attempts.
So I thought I got rid of all evidance.. however one of the two videos survived through the long before time to the present.. on that dusty VHS tape.
The reason I call the reffering AMVs "pre-firsts" is because I forgot about them when I released my VPM video.. and well pretty much forgot about it until I found it sometime last year... and the fact they were never released anywhere.. like 3 maybe 4 people saw them once.. and then the evidence was burned.. bwhWHWHAHahHAHAHhaHAHAHAHhahaHaa!! ..cept that VHS work tape.. (me incompentant video hit-man; I know)
There's more detail on my website, and in the video entry here on the .org.
Oh I also made so minor but cool changes on my website. Now when you download a video from my site, you can give feedback, by voting for a degree of how much you liked or disliked the video.. but be aware you can only take it once.

Website Outage..
2003-05-16 08:05:38
Apparently the host-provider to the server that my website runs on, changed the IPs of the system last night. I didn't get the email from the sysadmin that this change was in effect until today (this morn). So when the DNS updates finally disperse the site will go back online.
If I checked my email last night, the outage would of been shorted, or none-existant. Regardless, everything is re-configured accordingly, the site should go back online soon. Sorry for the outage. =(
Current server time: Sep 10, 2025 10:40:29
