I feel like I should be dead.

I've contracted some sort of bug a few days ago. My body felt pretty sore when I got up this morning, I've had a runny nose for the past three days and I found two sores on my tongue last night. I feel kind of bad, but I'm still able to move around, so I don't think it's too bad. The only thing that's got me worried is the situation with my tongue, I hope it's not some weird symptom to something horrible. Hopefully, just riding it out will be the best thing I can do.
Last Monday was the final of the fabled Monday night get-togethers at the comic shop. I've got a lot of good memories from those nights, and I've made a lot of good friends since I started going; Kriss (the Dr. Mario demon), Oli, Jergen, MiTous "To The Dome!", Murphy, McGee, Hart, The Peruvians, Matt, Alex "Oh My God, That Chick's So Hot!", Steve, Asian Mike, and of course, Hogosha. We're all going to try and get together again every once in a while, and I'm definitely going to keep in touch with Hogosha, so I can look forward to a lot more fun down the road.
Classes are pretty easy so far. Nothing to difficult for Troubleshooting, haven't done too much for System Analysis yet. But Photoshop is dragging on. Our instructor is explaining every detail a little too much. I understand it's for those who don't have a lot of experience with a computer (let alone a Mac), but for the rest of us, it's pretty frustrating. I've been assigned a lot of nights at work. I don't know how it's going to affect my school work, but I'll just see how things work out for the next few weeks.
9 more days until Anime Iowa! I may be the only person on the org going to it, but I'm still going to have a lot of fun.
On a more serious note, my thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by Hurricane Katrina. I wish you all well, and I hope you are finding comfort and security somewhere.

Bitter? Naw. Just annoyed.

My parents got to go to the state fair over the weekend, meeting up with my uncle and step aunt. I would have gone with them, but I wasn't granted time off. The new girl was given that privilege before her first day of work. I was a tad depressed about it on Friday, but I got over it really quick. The thing that really upset me was that one of the girls called in two days in a row. Her excuse was that she was unable to get a ride to work, the time she takes to get to work is a 30 minute drive. Some of us are wondering if her excuse really holds water or not. I'm also wondering how my work schedule will be affected by another new girl. This girl in question was suppose to start her job training last Thursday, but she hadn't finished (or begun) her paperwork by that point, so this Thursday will be her first day. I hope I still have Friday off at least, want to try and enter a karaoke contest, hee-hee.
Found out a week ago that one of my friends from high school has returned from his service with the marines. It's been a while since I've seen him, I need to get in touch with him one of these nights so we can hook up again.
Still trying to get some work done on the projects now that I have no real school work to concentrate on. Video is coming along slow but steady, and the story, like any other writing I've done, is hard to get back into. It's always a tough decision for me, creative outlets or video games, a very tough decision.
@ Moonlight Soldier: I liked the banner. It didn't really share a theme or make sense, but I liked it.

Ahh. School's over...for a week.

Gave my PowerPoint presentation about 3hours ago. My instructor really liked it, said it was one of the best out of the entire class. I'm glad, 'cause I didn't think I did that good of a job and my hands were shaking the entire time. The teach' asked if I was nervous, I was for some reason. I can perform in a play in front of a packed house and look cool about it, but I can't kept my composure during an actual speech. Anyway, got a B on the paper (would have gotten more if I sited my sources in the actual report, I thought the bibliography I included would be enough. Oh well.) and a B- as a final grade, not bad. I have a week off until the fall semester begins. Classes will be System Analysis, Trouble Shooting and.....PHOTOSHOP! Yeah! I finally get to take Photoshop class. Now I can make cool wallpapers and banners too. I expect it to be hard, but I'm really looking forward to it.
The new girl at work needs a lot of work. A lot. One day, as the two of us were running the register, I was preparing some food for a customer. This customer was patiently waiting at the register so she could get the food, pay and then eat. At the same time, a line of people who had already gotten their food were also at the register, ready to pay. Obviously, I couldn't attend to these people since I was busy. The girl could have taken care of them, but since the person I was waiting on was first in line, she was confused. She thought the important thing to do was take care of the person who hadn't gotten her food, but since I was still getting her food, the girl thought it was my responsibility to work the register. And so she just stood there with a blank expression on her face wondering what to do. Being the second person assigned to the register, she could have taken care of any one of those customers. Instead she let her incompetence and lack of focus get the better of her, in the presence of responsibility, she did absolutely nothing. I doubt she's going to make it. The thing that bugs me the most about this is that some of the other women think I have considered going out with her. I have considered it, but I refuse to date anyone who doesn't have a good head on her shoulders.
One of my good friends, Mike, a.k.a. Hogosha, a.k.a. Dark Hogosha, is currently in Las Vegas, competing in Evolution 2005. He's been anxious about it for over a month. He wants to represent Iowa and the Dubuque Crew, but he doesn't know how he's going to be treated out there, whether people will respect him for his abilities, or whether he will be labeled as a cheap wanna-be. I've told him that all he needs to do is to do his best, prove his worth, and show those guys how great he really is. I hope he does well, because I want to hear how much of a great time he is going to have.

Ugh. Can I get on with my life now?

The 10 Page Report has been handed in today. I'm not sure whether or not my instructor will like it. I felt like I put in a lot of filler. Anyway, it's not over just yet. I have to turn the report into a PowerPoint presentation, and make that presentation last 25 minutes. God I've got anxiety problems coming out the wa-zoo. I have a week to finish it, so I better have something good produced by then.
The girl who was dropped at work has been replaced, but one of the girls has been transferred to become a cocktail server. So we still need a spot filled. Anyway, the new girl seems pretty nice. I just hope she can handle the bitch alright. She's shy, emotionally, but I think she has the ability to open up. She's rough in a few areas (didn't know what a B.L.T. is), but that will be taken care of in a while, I think she'll do alright. Oh, by the way...did I mention she thinks I'm cute!?!
The Huey Lewis concert was awesome! Even in his mid 50s, the guy still knows how to rock. Got a whole roll of film of him and the band, but they turned out pretty average. Just shows that I need a much better camera, or one with a zoom function. It was a total blast, I hope he comes to town again, I wouldn't mind seeing another show from him.
Found out one of my friends from Iowa City has moved to L. A. and has his own web site, www.paulrust.com. Not much as far as content, but it's still good to know he's as psychotic as ever. Check out his music area, those songs are just like him, FUCKING HILARIOUS!!!

I'm totally looking forward to it.

Tomorrow is the big day, the day Huey Lewis and the News comes to town. I'm so excited, I've had a bunch of his songs stuck in my head since Monday. I'm wondering whether or not I should listen to the few Huey Lewis albums I have before the show. Will listening to them get me pumped for the concert, or will it ruin the experience for me? No telling. I plan on bringing my camera, yet I have no idea whether or not photos will be allowed. If they will be, I plan on taking some great pictures of the band.
Well, one of the two new girls already lost her job at the deli. She called in one day and there was a no call/no show incident. Even though she showed up the day after the no call/no show, the bosses still gave her the axe. She only lasted a week, I don't think I even met her at all. Guess she didn't know how to act professional in a profession.
I'm coming close to finishing up the project for Thursday, rough draft is almost done. Only two more important things to finish for class. A PowerPoint presentation on the paper and a outline of a chapter of our choice from the text book. Hopefully I'll be able to finish this stuff, but I really need to get my ass in gear (i.e. stop screwing around on the internet).
