  • Blaa 2005-07-06 13:52:53 Since people have pointed out they like to read about editors' AMV creating process I think I should mention some points.

    I wrote something in the forum about lip-sync and came to remember that I had one project concept that relies quite heavily on lip-sync. These things reminded me how I felt about lip-syncing in general (dislike it) and the fact that I also suck at making lip-sync (due to obvious reason). Now this put me in a little pinch :3 Lost a bit of inspiration to create that AMV and I think I'll put it on ice for a while and see if I'm still interested to return to it later.

    This just fueled up the fact that my editing is not going very well right now. My projects are based on strong concept and gut feeling. Nowadays I have become to doubt the concept behind my upcoming AMVs and I lack the drive coming inside me to make any. Even the (poor) small short project I made didn't give much of a boost for me.

    I'm just getting back from a pause and it seems I need a longer one. Maybe I overdid it a little with creating crap for AMV Hell 3.
    Or maybe it's this damn summer and the heat >_<

  • Booze! 2005-06-24 16:06:45 I hereby declare this weekend as DRUNKEN EDIT WEEKEND!

    Lately my edits have gone worse and worse all the time. I blame AMV Hell for this. It's time to start to do my own projects too. For starters to get back into the editing feeling I'll do one of the short AMV ideas I have had for a while. Bad news is that I didn't learn anything from the drunkie I made (carol of the bald ones) some time ago. Dunno what'll happen with the current project now that I have done basic outline beta stuff while totally bombed <3

    We shall see.. 
  • Turku DDR Open 2005-06-19 12:28:56 I was at a Dance-game contest yesterday. Result was quite expected. Dropped out during the first round : This contest was also played with cobalt flux dance pads. I just can't get a good feeling to those pads. Can't play with bare feet/socks since they have nasty screws on the pad and I can't feel anything through the shoes. It doesn't help that the pad is a bit smaller than normal controllers.. or at least it feels that way.
    Song that the organizers chose for seeding was Mr.T - Xenon. It didn't go well at all, and I was already expecting to be dropped to standard level. It seems other players had their share of problems too since I think I was ranked somewhere in the middle.
    1st round song was OutPhase - Sync. I was quite familiar with the song and had learned to play with flux pads at that point. It went quite ok, but I still missed the feel of the arrow positions a few times, costing a lot of points. Like I said I did ok (71milj.) but the guy that I was playing against just did better. So I got dropped out by a 2 milj. margin. Which was a bummer since 2nd round song would have been Re-Venge - Matsuri Japan, which I know pretty well. Clearing the 2nd round would have been the limit for me in which I would have been more than satisfied with. After that there was guys that did full combos with songs like MAX300 and Paranoia KCET.
    Standard level competition was won by a female ^_^b

    At least it went better than the last competition where I played with those Flux-pads the first time and lost 15milj. from my normal score and got dropped out during the seedings : 
  • Sammy's back! 2005-06-16 09:27:09 One of the big news for me this week has been the return of Sam Farha. It was his early works that really impressed me back then, and I have been waiting for his return to the animemusicvideo community, which was hinted in somewhere. I had only seen his first 3 AMVs and was about to send him mail and ask for the middle three I have missed, but reading his journal entries it seems he doesn't have them anymore :( I hope someone will be kind enough to send rest of them to be added into the org.
    It also seems (seeing his journal entries) he has a lot to say :) I just hope he doesn't burn himself out.. and I also wait if one of my AMVs will be worthy enough to be whined about in his journal ;)  
  • Wisdom ^^/ 2005-05-19 03:00:47 Oh yeah.. forgot to rant about my wisdom teeth again. Uncle dentist took one of those out again last monday.. 3 DOWN 1 TO GO! This one felt like it would also get infected like the two previous ones. Thank goodness it's much better now, so it most likely won't make me stop *knocks wood* for a week or so. It's just that I made a mistake yesterday and watched Samurai Champloo episodes 22 and 23. Laughed so hard the damn hole tore open so that I was spitting blood again.
