  • Are you listening? ooh oh oh ohhhhhoooooooooohhhhhhhh/ Sing it back, ooh oh oh ohhhooooooooooooohhhhhhh 2002-03-16 15:27:14 Okay, nothing much new to say about my webpage or videos. Still haven't worked much more on my new one, which I should do today. I also need to actually put stuff on my website, since I have someone linking to it. I'm helping Machine (Carlos Corral of MindWarp Productions) out with some webhosting, so I have about 6 or 7 of his videos up on my site. I need to get some html stuff up so everyone will have something to look at. Yeah, that'll be the day. The Tenchi Muyo box set I ordered just shipped today, and when that comes in, I have several ideas with it, one of which is remastering my Goldfinger video, so's that the video quality doesn't suck like it does now (that, and I can get rid of that damn little CN mark, which I am still ashamed and apologetic for). And my DVD of FLCL should be coming in in the next few weeks. And my new sound card should arrive soon. Yeah, I should stop spending so much money. At least the sound card was only $20 ($9 of that was shipping). I don't know if I have written since I took that midterm in Constitutional Law, but I think it went well. I hope I didn't miss anything. Oh well, as long as I pass the class. I don't need it for my major or anything (I'm taking to fulfill my honors college requirement), so I don't care how well I do, just as long as I pass.

Went and saw Ice Age last night. It was a cute movie, and the animation was pretty amazing, but the movie was kinda smarmy towards the end. I guess that is to be expected from a kiddy movie. I was expecting something more like Shrek, where there were a bunch of jokes the younger kids wouldn't get, but it was still funny to them anyway. There were a few good gags (the little squirrel thing that keeps popping up throughout the movie, and watch the baby's reaction when they are walking through the ice cave ^_^). Anyhow, I should go. It's almost 5:30, and I still haven't showered today (I am such a lazy bastard X-p). Yeah.
  • Everything is gonna be alright now/ Everything is gonna be alright/ All I wanna do is kick the welfare/ All I wanna do is get my share 2002-03-11 22:31:48 Well, it sure has been a while since I last wrote, but considering I wasn't online consistently for the last week, oh well. Got back from spring break on Saturday (which was also my 20th birthday, yippee ^_^). Over the week, I saw Queen of the Damned (sucked, no plot, crappy acting, phhhhbbbbtttt!), was introduced to a bunch of new bands (Good Charlotte, Starting Line, Rufio, Saves the Day, and Yellowcard, to name a few), and got to see some of them in concert last Friday. Good times.

For the birthday, I got an ATI Radeon 8500 to replace my old Rage Pro 128. Weeeeee, I'm playing Alien v. Predator 2, and the graphics are so damn smooth. WAI!!!! I also got the complete series of Bastard on DVD (it's only one disc), and the first disc of Cowboy Bebop. I then bought Ghost in the Shell, Kite, and Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust (a great movie, even though I've only had a chance to watch the old shitty asf copy that I have). I also have the Tenchi Muyo OAV complete box set on its way sometime soon, and the first disc of FLCL should be shipping by the end of the month. My little collection is gonna get fleshed out pretty well, I think. That, and this gives me some bitchin' source for some videos I hope to work on at some time.

Speaking of AMVs, I actually made some progress on the current video. I sat down last Monday and planned out around 2.5 minutes of the video (which will be around 7 minutes total). If anything, that 2.5 minutes is gonna be all cool and artsy-fartsy and whatnot, but the rest of the video is still to be seen. Anyhow, I need to go. I did not get any sleep last night, since I spent that time writing an essay for one of my classes that I had forgotten about. Now I just have to prepare for the Constitutional Law midterm I have Thursday, and I'll be set. Later.
  • BOUNCE! pogopogopogopogopogopogopogo BOUNCE! pogopogopogopogopogopogopogo 2002-03-04 17:51:27 That's a damn cool song. Well, I'm sitting here in the dorms, without another soul in the suite, since everyone went home (I dropped Brandon off at the airport earlier), and frankly, it's kinda nice. I can listen to whatever I want without using my headphones, and it is easier to get some work done. Well, at least it should be, but this damn computer keeps distracting me with things like this journal and whatnot. Oh well |-p Trying to study kanji and listen to System of a Down a while sitting still is difficult. Probably going to go home tomorrow, hang out with Mike for the day, send a CD and some cash to Hsien Lee so I can get one of those DDR VCDs, and try to get some reading done. Having a couple of tests and a paper due after Spring Break is a low blow. Death to infidel professors.
http://machall.com/index.php?strip_id=105 (Hee hee, MacHall is cool ^_^)

Oh yeah, speaking of Hsien Lee, that man is completely insane. See his journal entry for today for the explanation. http://animemusicvideos.org/journal_show.php?mid=141
I mean, damn, that's a lot of work. Anyhow, back to work. Fun >X-(
  • Golden brown, texture like sun/ Lays me down, with my mind she runs/ Throughout the night, no need to fight/ Never a frown, with golden brown 2002-03-04 01:33:04 Well, this weekend got off to an odd start. Remember Carol, the girl I mentioned in my last entry. Yeah, I had dinner with her Friday. I thought it might be a date, but it turns out that it was just too people eating and hanging out. And I am strangely cool with that. I think it is because I never felt that click, that little something that sparks your interest. I mean sure, she is interesting and extremely nice and cute to boot, but something was missing. I think I was so excited by the first meeting that I was overlooking some things, like how our conversations were kinda awkward and stilted. And we mostly talked about other people or things, instead of about one another. That, and the constant knitting was a bit unnerving. I don't really know exactly what it was. A few months ago, I probably would've gotten depressed about this, but now is different. I've been in such an odd mood lately, somewhat goofy and hyperactive. Well, at least more energetic that usual. Hmmmmm -_~

Last night, I went with my friends Mike and Darren to see 40 Days and 40 Nights, which was a better movie than I expected. The plot's a bit weird, but the amount of HOT women more than compensated (ok, so I'm a pig. oink oink ;@p) Well, after the movie, I had this weird sort of epiphany, it being weird because I couldn't figure out what it was for a while. I was feeling all wired up about it, and rather uncomfortable staying in one place. So, I got back to the dorms, talked to a couple friends of mine online, and then went for a walk around campus to clear my head and organize my thoughts. The weather (cold and windy, about 30 degrees, unseasonal for Houston in March) helped my thinking, since I like it cold and windy. That is where the whole click theory came into play. Okay, that all out in the open, I'll shut up now. Night.
  • Oh by the grace of God go I/ Into the great unknown/ Things are gonna change, in our favor 2002-03-01 00:54:50 Now if anyone can guess what song or band those lyrics are from, email me and I'll really send you a cookie or something. They're pretty small, and I am about one of the two people I know who has this album.

Anyhow, yesterday was really odd and cool and great. I was sitting in my room when Jeff and a girl I didn't know walked in. She introduced herself as Carol, and was just unbearably cute. And she's like this (*makes very small had gesture*) big. ^_^ KAWAI!!!!!!!! She was bringing her computer over to get my friend Josh's distribution of Linux on her machine. Now that is only the tip of the iceberg. She walked into my room, and the first thing she said was "Oh cool, you have Vampire Hunter D."

My first thought was "You have got to be shitting me. Cool."

Then she starts telling me about how she and one or two of her friends wanted to start a company that makes cosplay costumes. She's very good at sewing and knitting, which I was able to watch, since she brought a quilt she was working on to help her pass the time. We got to talking for quite a while, and then she remarks "Hey, that reminds me of this online comic that I have been reading."

"You gotta be shitting me, x2"

Later on, she started showing me some stories that she had been writing, in hopes of having her friend Marla illustrate them. And they are damn cool stories. She has a real talent for writing, and a nice tongue-in-cheek kind of style. And, the coup de grace, the final capper to the evening. I was driving her back to her apartment, and I asked if she has a boyfriend, which, quite to my surprise, she said no. And in my head, for the first time in a long time, I yelled "YEEEESSSS!!!! HELLZ YEAH!!" So I asked her out to dinner, and I have a date for tomorrow night. I mean, shit, I would have been insane to not ask her out, since she is one of the few girls I have EVER met who actually has the same interests I do. Hell, she even reads Japanese. And DAMN IS SHE CUTE!!!

At one time during the night, when we were reading one of the comics online, a character was wearing one of those schoolgirl sailor outfits. I think she then told me that she was one of the few people she knew that could pull off one of those costumes.

Dirty. Thoughts. Must. Resist. Just. Met. Can't. Appear. Perverted. AARRRGGGHH!

Well, it is late, and I'm actually going to try to make it to class at 8 am tomorrow. Geez, that's obscene. Of all the times of the day, why then? Anyhow, yada yada yada AMV stuff and the notness of the workage and yeah. Night.
