JOURNAL: evil_genius_39 (Jared Counts)

  • I launched all the world's nukes this morning/ Thought I could kick-start something/ Some of them flew off course and hit the moon instead/ It was kinda pretty 2002-09-29 17:42:14 Thought I would drop a quick note to anyone who cares. I have begun reconstruction on the website!! I have a new front page up (written by hand, mind you ^_^), and now all of the pictures load!! Yatta! Since I'm still in the process of learning html, it is a rather slow going, but I'm having fun. I also threw some kanji up there (translated: ja'aku na tensai no sakuhin, or Evil Genius Productions). Maybe soon I'll actually have some videos up, if I can get some more storage space, and I wasn't such a damn welcher -_- Anyhow, food beckons.

  • Cut the kid some slack/ Cut the kid some cake/ There's nothing to feel/ Nothing to hold 2002-09-26 20:07:58 This'll be a short one. I've burned 30-someodd CDs the last two days (all anime), just to clear off hard drive space. When I start getting some money from this internship thing, I need to buy a bigger HD so I can resume work on videos (or start, as the case may be). Also, got my internet access unblocked, so I can surf the net from my machine again. Yay. Gotta go, since I'm meeting my parents and my sister to go out to dinner. It's my sister's 23rd birthday, and apparently we are going to either have Thai or Indian food. That should be interesting. More later. Ja....

  • Life's gonna suck when you grow up/ When you grow up/ And then you're gonna die 2002-09-25 21:27:03 Doki Doki, you rock. Just found one of his videos online, and wow, it's funny. I've been finding some bitchin' connections online lately, allowing me to download several series within the last week (some overnight ^_^), despite the fact that my internet connection has been blocked off twice in the last two weeks. The university's telecomm people are being complete whores, and keep cutting of my suitemates' and my connection. They keep telling us it is something to do with Jeff's computer, but I thought we had resolved this issue (this affects me because my suitemates and I are hooked to a switch, which is then hooked to the network, making connections between our machines pretty damn fast). However, when Telecomm cuts off the connection, it takes us all out. And lucky me, I have a paper to write critiquing websites that is due tomorrow. I guess there is a lesson in here about not procrastinating, but I refuse to learn it. So, here I sit in the computer lab, which is capable enough, but being without my connection to the local media server and all kinda sucks. Luckily, my faithful CD player and CD case will help me through. Besides, I doubt it will take all that long. I just browse around on a site, take some notes, and try to think of ways to make it better. Not too bad. Then, I've gotta study for an astronomy test tomorrow. And buy my sister a birthday gift. And sleep sometime. Damn. This is no good. However, writing a journal about it isn't helping get it done. Later.

  • There's a guy above me washing windows/ Making $10 a pop/ And he says to me "HEY! You're part ot it!" 2002-09-13 03:22:22 Disc 1 of FLCL came in today!!! YATTA!!! It took forever and a day to ship, but once it was in the mail, it traveled fairly quickly. Good all around. Only two eps per disc, but hey, it's better than paying $40 per episode to import it @_@ Let's see, what were the goings-on of today?

Well, the video presentation my group did for Broadcast and Film Writing went over very well. We had to do a public service announcement, and since one of the members of our group works in a television studio owned by one of the local school districts, we made one of our own. Our new project involves making a commercial. We were going to do one for Sassy Jeans, with a tagline of "It's like a party....in your pants," but have since opted for a spot involving a fictional restaurant (Studly's, the opposite of Hooters, with handsome guy waiters in undershirts and such). Should be......interesting -_-

If you have Gnutella access, or some sort of download program on which you can find mp3s, look up Final Fantasy VI (III to those familiar with the US release) and find some of the Orchestral tracks from that game. AAAYYYYYYYYY!!! It brings back such wonderful memories >X-D I even found the orchestral version of Celes' opera, with vocal and everything (the file is over 23 minutes long!!). Nobuo Uematsu is quite a talented composer. Like a Japanese John Williams, but not as repetitive, and more original.

Anyhow, got a few more pages to read, and then bed. Oyasumi, minna-san.
