JOURNAL: Kentaro (Enrico Bianco)

  • Yes! More Progress! 2001-11-04 22:57:38 Taking a suggestion from the only person who'd answered my question on the forum so far, I searched the net for the MPEG2DEC.DLL using Google.com. It worked! I immediately began to experiment with ErMaC's guide again and now everything works just fine. I can edit VOBs directly in Premiere! I just wish my monitor could support higher resolutions. =)

I've gotten started on my planned Ghost in the Shell video, trying to create a song map like the kind that Phade suggested in his guide to making AMVs. Perhaps I should try to twist his idea of a song map to fit my personal style of thinking because so far making such a song map hasn't worked. I had decided a long time ago that the video would be about the "Puppet Master" conspiracy and Kusunagi's "humanity". The two are intertwined and wrapped into a conspiracy that goes perfectly with the song I've chosen.

Ahhh.... the sweet smell of progress. I love my life. =)
  • New Hardware! 2001-11-04 08:12:38 Well, I just got a 1.5 GHz computer with a sweet capture card and a DVD-ROM (which I can easily make region-free, apparently). When I can get a region 2 DVD of CCS Movie 2, I'll be redoing my first AMV with WAY better quality (and maybe following a bit closer to the lyrics of the song).

I've also downloaded Premiere but haven't taken the time to experiment with it yet. I tried to follow ErMaC's Guide on editing VOB files directly in Premiere but the link to the MPEG2DEC.DLL was broken. I posted to the forums hoping to have this question of mine answered. In the meanwhile, I'll be looking for it everywhere else I can try and find it. =)

I've picked a song to go with Ghost in the Shell, one of the DVDs I happen to already have in my collection. When I'm able to work with the VOB files directly in Premiere, I'll be experimenting with a Ghost in the Shell AMV. Just so you know, I'm not using Linkin Park. I'm sure the AMV community has seen enough of those. =)
