Post-Otakon
2002-08-01 11:28:23
I think I've finally recovered from Otakon. Only averaged 2 hours of sleep for the 4 days I was there. Mainly reason I had no sleep was that I had Press Passes. If you happened to have been at Otakon and saw a sock puppet running around, looking like the one from Pets.com, then I was the guy with the camera.
I attended the music video panel. That was cool, met up with Tim (Dokidoki), Vlad, Yosho, Scott Meltzer, James Kapostas(Not sure if I spelled his name). It was cool getting their cds and doing exchanges. I learned a lot since I talked with those guys afterwards and asked them stuff. Very informative.
MAT3k was fun, cosplay was cool. I got about 6 hours worth of footage, that I will be converting from DV to VHS. Other than that I went to watch some of the overflows from Otakon. Was pleased to see the reaction that "Gundam Bears" got. I'm glad people liked it. I was afraid I was going to get lynched or something.
Anyways, I need to finish up that Bebop video I'm helping a friend make. Then after that I can get to work on a Goldenboy video that popped into our heads while my friends were throwing me a birthday party a few weeks ago.

The dawning of a new age
2002-07-17 16:37:02
Some of you may wonder why I have titled this entry like so. For a strange reason I feel depressed. I guess that's because the pony tail that I have had for the 6 years I was in college (technically 7, took a year off and changed majors from pre-med to computer science/psychology) has now been cut off.
To appease to the masses of Corporate America it had to be cut. Now as I sit here at work, typing away witht his journal entry, I am flooded with memories, both good and bad, of what has gone on with my life since I've had the tail.
Most of the memories are bad, the most painful in my 25 years. Well I know this feeling will go away, and no I don't want any sympathy. I just don't understand why I had to cut the tail off.
I don't enjoy having to conform to the masses. I like to have my own identity. My friend, Paige, mentioned that of all her friends I have the most unique personality. Knowing her to be such a sweetheart, it brought a smile to my face, but it's weird. Weird because everytime I reach back with my hand, the pony tail just isn't there.
Oh well. What can I do/say...obviously nothing. I'm sure months from now when I look back at this I'm going to realize how stupid I have been.

Wow, has it been that long?....
2002-07-12 16:29:32
I guess so. Seems my last entry was in April. Wow, how the days have just gone by. So yesterday was my birthday, 7/11/77. I know, the numbers multiply, divide, and they are prime numbers. I need to ask some numerologist what that means, if it does mean anything.
So what's been going on? Music video wise, not much really. There hasn't been a song out there that has caught my fancy. Then again I argue with my friends who like short 2 min videos. They like to chop up songs and stuff. I think those videos suck, becuase you just make a concept video. Concept videos can be done well and there are ones out there which are awesome and I like alot. I just don't like short videos, I prefer to tell a story.
Other than that I'm still working on that anime with my friends. That and I've been job hunting like a whore. Probably why I haven't been online here much.
Oh well, I like the new design Phade put in here. Pretty cool. I should get going, hopefully I can keep the updates and journal entries coming in.

It's a good time for an update
2002-04-29 19:32:42
Hi there folks,
It's been a while since I last wrote here, so time to do a nice update. So NYCAT came and went. It was a lot of fun, except for the partner of mine who chose to help me run the tour. He fucked up alot of stuff, but everyone had a good time and got back home.
So over the weekend I worked on Gundam Bears, fixed it up. I think it's complete. Need to get it done and send it to Otakon by May 11th.
Was talking to a friend, Mike, and we were listening to 'Livin on a prayer' by Bon Jovi. It was on the radio and we both commented how Fatal Fury would make a good video. So that night, I started on it, and I came up with a good video for it..Mike didn't like certain parts so he fixed a couple of scenes for me, but it's basically completed.
Hopefully I can premiere it this Fri at the JCA meeting over at Rutgers University.
So basically I finished the Fatal Fury video by Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening I started working on another music video. "El Tango de Roxanne" from the MOulin ROuge Soundtrack to Escaflowne.
I wanted it to be a serious dramatic video. But my friend, Lisa, said it would be better coming off as a comedy. After arguing for 3 hours, we got started, and she and Mike were laughing at all the cut scenes we were doing.
So I told them to wait, and let me see what we had done.....they were right, it was funny. More like a 'dromedy'...a dramatic comedy. I don't knwo how it happened, but the song is about a guy falling in love with a crack whore. Somehow I have Hitomi being the crack whore...LOL
Don't ask. I hope to have that finished soon, cuz I think that and the Fatal Fury video are the best videos I've made yet.
Anyways have to go help a friend with her programming assignment. See you all laters.

It's been a while....
2002-04-17 04:59:57
It sure has been a while since I've added written anything down. So much to say, so much to write. Might as well get on with it then. Well first off come the Webmaster Guy voice auditions. Had 2 days of interviews, and all I can say is WOW. It's weird how things work out. The first auditions we had 1 guy attend and 7 girls attend. The second auditions we had 2 girls and 7 guys attend. Freaky. The girls were pretty too!!! Anyways, I think we found the perfect voices for the show, but have to wait and see.
Over at the anime club in Rutgers University, we've had our very first female president. Her name is Sarah. She's an artist, has had some of her stuff published in Animerica and she's a credited voice in 'This is Otakudon'. I'm glad Mike and Meri got elected as well. You probably would know them as VegettoEX and MeriC, I'd say that they are pretty popular AMV creators.
Well it's going to be another busy week for me. Working on finishing up Gundam Bears. Actually t's finished, it's just the capturing was done at 320 X 240. I plan on ecapturing everything at 640 X 480. Then it's off to register it to Shoujocon and Otakon. I doubt we'll make the cut for Otakon, so many good videos out there, especially with people now having the chance to make them.
Oh yes, then there is NYCAT, this weekend. The NYC Anime Tour, is run twice a year. Usually run during the Spring and Fall. Anyways, I'm going to be the Tour Guide again. I've been the tour guide since the Tour first began, way back in 1997 (I think). But it's a nice way to meet people, plus show people all the best places to pick up anime and other goodies. I can't wait. I just hope that the weather cools down some.
Let's see anything else on my plate? Oh yes, the weather. It's insanely HOT!!! I believe today was 93 degrees. Jesus, it's Spring, in New Jersey it should be like 60 degrees, not 90. Because of the heat the university had a power outage, lost internet connection. I'm glad I got it back up, was able to play Roger Clemens tonight for Fantasy Baseball. Not like it matters though, Clemens sucks, gave up 3 runs. You fucker...had to get a 7 era didn't you. I'd have been content with a 3 or a 4. Oh well, all my pitchers lost today, Glavine, Lidle, and Clemens. It's alright though, their ERAs combined are low and I'm still in the lead in that department. Now if only my hitters could hit.
Oh well. I'll write some more soon.
