New Search Method
There is now a new search method: Super Search. It is very similar to the Power Search except that instead of large drop-down menus to choose from, there are blank text fields. The page loads quickly to start. It shows the number of results and pages results 20 to a page. This should make searching much nicer.
Search critera rules are the same as the forum search (rules are written at the forum, but apply to the Super Search as well). There are already plans to improve the search, but I wanted to make this working version avaiable. Have fun!! 2001-11-09 00:00:00 EST - Database Server Problem Well, seems there is no room left on the database disk drive. Without drive space for the creation of temporary tables, large queries (like searches) will not function and will give a funky error. I will have to correct the problem in the morning (since it's 12:30am and I need to sleep). Sorry about the delay. To make up for it, I will have a nice announcement tomorrow. - More Server Optimizations A new server optimization has apparently fixed the broken refresh problem expirenced by some browsers. If you come across any other problems, post a message in the Web Site forum or contact Phade as soon as possible. 2001-11-05 00:00:00 EST
- Oh, the spinning, the spinning... Seems that a new tweak has stopped the forum spinning. Whoo hoo! The only mild drawback is that a page may possibly not refresh properly if you hit the browser refresh button. (This has happened on my browser here, but has not so far happened with testing on other machines.) You may also notice a slight speed increase in the site.
