- VCA and Logo Voting Extended Due to several server outages this week, the VCA and Logo contest voting has been extended until Sunday. =) 2002-02-15 16:33:16 EST
- DON'T USE DOWNLOAD ACCELERATORS!! I've been doing some observing of the server recently to try and lock down the cause of the server crashes. It seems there is a combination of falutly ram and hard drive sectors. Download accelerators may be causing an undue strain on the server when it is calculating the hit updates and opening the foreign socket to hand the user the file. This stress may be causing the server crashes since the crashes seem to be happening around the same time each day. Download resumers are ok, but DON'T USE DOWNLOAD "ACCELERATORS". They just seem to break the server. I'll keep you posted on server developments as they are realized. 2002-02-14 10:33:42 EST
