RahXephon TPM / Bruce Cockburn - Kick at the Darkness

Post by TheBlackHalbardier » Sat Aug 04, 2007 8:16 pm

This video was done in iMovie 4 - frankly, I'm a lot more impressed with the results of this little project than with my WMM ones, but I know I'm not a particularly fair judge.

It's a character-profile AMV, illustrating the troubled relationship of Ayato and Haruka to the tune of 'Lovers in a Dangerous Time'. (A natural choice of song, imho - though this is the first music video done to this song that doesn't use the Barenaked Ladies cover. Hmm.) Honest criticism is welcome - don't pull any punches!

First of all, Bruce Cockburn = Win

I started watching it and 20 seconds in I said to myself "Awwww! How sweet!" and you know, other than that darn Lip Flap and a problem with the video quality, it was actually a sweet video even with the violence included.

Sweet song and nice use of scenes. The climax you created is just perfect!!
The only things that downgrades it are the lip flaps.

4/5 from me,very good!!Keep it up. :D

I like the concept so much that I may consider doing a remaster along the same lines, taking out the lip flap, of course. Problem is the interlacing the DVD rip makes is rather damned irritating!

Thanks for the input, Beast Spear, ayanefan and Full Metal Sempai. Glad to see a couple more classic Bruce Cockburn fans out there!

I'll definitly check this out. Major RahExPhon fan.

EDIT:

Meh. Needs better video quality. Lip flap was distracting (you can fix this using a matte and a motion track). But overall, this was pretty damn good!

3.25/5
