For those who are bored and liked Wolf's Rain

Post by Reverent WolF » Tue Jun 19, 2007 3:03 pm

I made a Wolf's Rain AMV with the song "Fix You" by Coldplay.

Tried to tell a story and used very simple editing. Hopefully you'll get chills if you watched the anime. Enjoy.

I didn't think this video would be good, with your topic title and all, but I went ahead and downloaded it for Coldplay's sake...

Holy. Shit.

That was probably, the best Wolf's Rain AMV I've ever seen. Not in terms of video quality, not in masking or effects, or fancy encodes... but in overall mood, storytelling, and such. Song choice couldn't have been better, it was as if every lyric fit. You captured the pain, sorrow, loss, hope, and everything else I loved about Wolf's Rain.

This video moved me like very few AMVs have. I absolutely love it. 5/5

That was very good, good scene selection and editing was dead on. I enjoyed the song and the anime looked interesting as well. I have never seen it though so I think some of the sentimental value was lost, not your fault though. Good job :D

o.0 dude... seeing the anime is like... a pre-requisite. Wolf's Rain is all but ruined for you now. I am sorry for your loss...

dude... wow, I'm impressed :o

I haven't seen Wolfs rain, and this has made me want to go out and see it now. I believe this is probably the best story driven video I've seen to this anime yet, and this song is pretty ^^

praise aside though, I would've liked to see more synch in there, the clips seem to cut in random places alot. You obviously did alot of thought in your scene placements and such because the mood and story is almost perfect, and I did see *some* synch, but try to use more fades and fades to black to enhance the drama more when appropriate, and synch more scene changes with the music. (for example, a scene should end at the end of a stanza in the song and a next scene begin on the next stanza, something like that)

THe only other downpoint I would say is the visual quality, even though its a wmv I think you can tweak the settings to get better quality than this for a reasonable size.

I really liked this. a large part of that reason is the song and your directing.

4/5 even with the bad visual quality and lack of sync.

Hmm, this video seems curious. And I did like Wolf's Rain. Check back for a comment. :)

Everyone was right. That was very good. I really liked the flow and the synching. Towards around 3:00 or so it really reminded me of the parts in the series that had songs in them. That's a good thing.
For a WMV the quality was also really good too, the only times I ever had a problem with it at all was around: 2:30, other than that I thought it was really nice.
I would give this a 4/5. Really nice video. Good job.

When you make your new vid, be sure to also put up an Avi copy, for people who don't want or can't play the MP4. You'll get more hits. Please. :)

x2

Of course, the video quality could have much better, and some of the cuts were kind of awkward (as bakadeshi already explained), but conceptual aspect of this video is very moving. It brought back a lot of elements of Wolf's Rain that I really enjoyed, and had me feeling the pain of the characters all over again. Nice song choice, too. Keep up the good work. ;)

It's not the container that's usually the problem it's the inability or lack of knowledge of how to clean and present your footage.
