Angst and cats; it's gotta be Sakaki. (AzuDaioh profile vid)
So I thought it would be fun to make a video so serious that it turned into ridiculous. You know, melodramatic. But as the editing went on it turned into a sweet little piece in its own right, and now, really, it's just a regular profile AMV. But, since this is still Azumanga Daioh, it may still look pretty ridiculous if you think about it too hard. So it can be seen both ways.
(And it's also a liiiiittle bit funny that, if one were to look at my supposed persona, this is EXACTLY the video you would expect from me. But that's another story.)
It's a simple little thing, was weirdly quick to put together, not much that's ambitious about it except the fact that it is, after all, a serious AzuDaioh video. But apart from that, I just enjoyed making it and that's about it.

Title: Like Me
Anime: Azumanga Daioh
Song: The Smiths, "How Soon Is Now?"
Genre: Serious/Character Profile (though again, it can easily be humorous if you want.)
Aaaand that's the end. I'm tired now. Enjoy, if you like.

Very nice video! I liked the white flashes on the beats, and the scene with the girls dancing and Sakaki on the horse made me smile ^_^ You almost made me favor the original over the T.A.T.U. cover, but I dunno, the whiny voices of two pretend lesbians wins me over for some reason! Gah! But seriously, nice job ^^

Thanks, all.
I think I've heard TaTu's version once, although I didn't mind Love Spit Love at all, and the other one isn't bad either, Snake River Conspiracy. (This song gets a lot of play. See? It's classic.)
Anyway. Thanks. I didn't intend to lean too much on Sakaki and Kaorin originally, but it turned out that way in the choruses from sheer "what the hell ELSE am I going to sync to these lyrics?" factor. It just sneaks in! I swear! I'm going to do a hetero video someday if it's the last thing I do.
mj - I had doubts about those flashes too. It looked awfully cool the first time I tried them, but then once I did I felt obligated to keep using that tactic the whole way through the song, because I had this idea in the back of my head that people would start expecting to see them. Blah. Well, at least they're on beat this time, I think; that's usually a problem.
There are some good ones out already, of course, but I'm looking forward to more. (...with action, and beat-using-ness, and, you know, energy. and stuff.)
So thanks again, all.
Oh, you pain my old-school angsty-Britpop-loving heart.Fungie½ wrote:Very nice video! I've got one in the queue, but it's shameless comedy, so I may dissapoint you =/SarahtheBoring wrote:Hopefully.dokool wrote: Yeah, great vid! I tend to do basic/retro-y editing along with the 80s music in this one, so I'm not surprised. I'll take that as a compliment, too. ^_^;FoxJones wrote:Oh whee ^.^ This one took me back to the 90's to the first AMVs I saw.. and don't get me wrong that is a very GOOD thing ^_^b Maybe it's the music choice that made it so...
Nice story from sad-Sakaki to happy-Sakaki.. this one will be in my favourites list for sure.
and yay, that's pretty much what I was getting at. Thanks, glad you liked.
