Please help, I'm new to Premiere =)

Post by *Sion* » Sat Sep 18, 2004 12:40 pm

Basically, I'm running on a tight budget, so I downloaded the trial version for 6.0 (I have ME, can't run the toher trial) to see if it's worth buying it.
Now, I'm used to Windows Movie Maker, so I was kind of wondering if there was an option like in WMM that would break down your videos into smaller videos? I foudn that actually quite useful.
Also, since I'm trying to make most of my 30 days, a good tutorial would be great too.
Thanks. :D

Now, now, quit being aggressive.

Well, frankly, it's sort of difficult for people to be giving tutorials on a 1-1 basis like this, but posting in the 'Software Help' forum might result in some advice. I suggest checking out some of the sticky threads here and in the help forums - and, especially, the guides from the main website, along with help files from Premiere itself.

This should generally give you enough info to get a project done. It doesn't take long to understand premiere - if anything, I'm the living proof of that, having made my first AMV in it without having any prior knowledge of the program (besides reading the manual and the AMV guides).

Not for when you import.
Youll have to cut them down and then import if you want smaller clips.

OK, BACK TO THE QUESTION!!!
NO!!! There there is no such an option in Premiere you have to cut the video by hand by using the split icon in you small toll box at the left hand of the timeline (it is like a little razorblade). Then you click evywere on you video and you cut it.

If you like a program that cuts your videos automatically I'll recomend you to buy PINNACLE STUDIO 8. It is a very simple program and runs like Windows Movie Maker but this one has way lot more opptions that Windows. So if you like the videos being cut atomatically and you dont want to do it yourself Pinnacle Studio is a very good option.
Trying is the first step towards FAILER!!! <awayoflife>
