Conclusion of AMV Hosting....

Post by Gottaname » Sat Aug 24, 2002 9:22 am

I have concluded the my survey and the decision is: Yes, this service will commence in the December period of 2002. I would like to thank everyone who reviewed my post earlier on as it gave me an idea of the kind of business environment that exists here. I am probably going to merge this with my other buddies who are starting an computer/internet company so I don't expect to see any technical or logistics problems with this service. The service goes as follows:

Anime Fanart/Fanfiction/Music/Video Space (AFMVS)

This service will cover most aspects of anime on the internet such as Fanart/Fanfiction, Music, AMVs and Websites related to Anime or Japanese Styled Animation/Cartoons.

Hosting:

Free Service:
What you will get:
No file transfer limit and 50MB allotment of Storage for anything that is related to Anime or Japanese Styled Animation/Cartoons. You will upload it to us via FTP and e-mail us stating the files you want to place up.

Paid Service:
What you will get:
100MB Space, 1 FTP account, No File Transfer Limits, No File Restrictions, Sub-Domain Name (Yourname.afmvs.com).
The Cost is only US$15 a YEAR (Which is US$1.25 a MONTH)

Administration:

We are based off Singapore (Which means no power failures, no guns, no bubble gum and no corruption too. If you last checked our law, we HANG drug traffickers and use the cane on them if we can.) Seriously, the corporate law here is extremely strict so you won't see another Enron happening here. Anyway, we accept postal orders or checks from International Banks. Our ordering system goes like this:

1. You send us a e-mail with your order.
2. We reply to you with a e-mail comfirming that you want to get a account. You say yes and you reply.
3. We will ask you to agree to our terms and conditions and will ask you to make payment.
4. When your payment reachs us, we will send you an e-mail informing you of your account activation. This e-mail will also contain your records that we have (Your payment, your record number, etc, etc) and this e-mail can be used as a counter-foil so it is important to keep it and not lose it.

Support:

Like We said, We are stationed in Singapore so there would not be much problems with logistics and technicalities.

You're smoking something... I currently pay about $6/month for 100MB. I would love to pay $15/year for the same thing.

$6/month? That's shit. But $15/year is crap. Whatever, I don't care about his hosting anyways, I have my own.

I paid $36 for one year with a cap at 10 gigs of Xfer per month on 200 Megs of space...My hosting company recently changed their plan to $36 a year for 6 gigs of Xfer per month and 300 Megs of space. Luckily that change didn't affect me..Even so, 10 gigs of Xfer isn't anywhere near enough for me.

Wolfwood, if you don't care about this why in the blue hell are posting comments about it? If you don't need to say your opinion, don't.

 It's like a sewage waste personel giving his thoughts on the contruction of a new cotton candy stand.

I'd be all over that, but It'd help if you offered more space for a bit more money. I'm interested anyway, let me know when/if this happens.

Well, the only problem left now is that I have to get 20 customers to sign up within the first month of opening, I made a promise to my buddies that this thing would become popular and yes, you'll able to buy more space, the rate would be US$4 per 20 MB per year
