Apparently this is not a topic I can talk briefly on.Scott Green wrote:Then you post another long one??wurpess wrote:Apparently my post was way too long for people to feel like reading.

It think that about sums up <strike>my aimless rambling</strike> that entire post. *^_^*wurpess wrote:The point is, its the internet. Stuff tends to wander. So even if you get art from sites that's usually ok with you using it, there's always a chance it came from somewhere that doesn't want it used. (Like deviantart) So I'm not saying 'Deal with it', I'm saying 'Chill'.
Only the vocal forum members condone it. "Thank us for using your fanart." You know, they say the same thing when people use amvs. "You should be flattered they liked your vid enough to repost it with their name on it." The people on this forum are all for stealing and plagiarism. And if you have the gall to point out how ridiculous, disgusting, and demeaning that mindset is, they'll bash you over the head with sarcasm and pat each other on the back for having no respect whatsoever for hobbyists who actually take pride in their work. It's an amv org forum thing. No other hobby condones fanwork theft like the forumers here do. Why are amv-org editors so different? I don't know, but they've been this way for years and they just get nastier and more condescending every time the subject comes up.tirachan wrote:Since the art is not taken down, does this mean that AMV condones such actions?
JaddziaDax wrote:But I feel that if this person really wanted her art removed she should contact the admins by the email listed at her deviant art account to get the banner removed... because since you have so clearly stated, you are not the "owner" of said art, therefore you should have no say as to where it should be used.
If at first you don't succeed, have someone vocal make a thread about it. Works every time~!tirachan wrote:...they said the art was stolen and they had contacted AMV many times to take it down. Neither AMV nor the person who stole the art, Mike of the Desert, has taken it down at all...
