KAAAAAHHHHNNNNN!!!
Ermac wrote:Yes, this is my final video. I am officially retired. I have withdrawn from the DDR Project, I have entered EW into my last contest, and I have deleted the tiny bit of the one project I was working on. I'm done.
Why? Because I feel like all the videos I really want to make, I can't make. My visions for videos have become more and more complicated, more involved, and more technically challenging than I could possibly devote the time or creative energy to in order to make. And it's depressing. I haven't had any creative energy to work on a video in months. The work on EW was the last bit of oomph I had left in me, and even then it almost felt like a chore to finish. Editing is no longer fun, because I've realized that I can never truly realize the visions I have with the resources currently available to me, and that frustrates me to no end.
So I'm done. I had a good run, and EW won Best of Show at FanimeCon, the con where I also won my very first award (for Closer to God back in 2001). I thought that was a pretty poetic way to end things. I have too many other things going on in my life now to keep this going. This website will remain for a long time, I assume, but do not expect new updates ever again. Maybe someday this site will be transformed to a new purpose, I don't know yet, but as far as AMVs are concerned, there will not be any more.
Thank you to everyone who's supported me and emailed me over the four years I've worked on AMVs. Thank you to everyone who's ever left an opinion or a star rating over on A-M-V.org. I'm happy that you've taken the time to watch and rate my work.
I made my last AMV in 2003. I did enter a work I did in 2004 in last year's AWA Masters, and while it did contain a majority of anime footage, I consider it more of the culture jamming work I've done sporadically since.dokool wrote: The weird thing is, I remember him telling me at AB last year that Otakon '04 was gonna be it for him...
Oh, he still edits. In fact, he's on some other forums looking for voice actors.Pie Row Maniac wrote:SQ wrote:He's not making any more AMVs, period.![]()

i'm a little confused.. I know the Field Trip videos said they were by Tardo.. but then AMV4000 went up for the award.. so i thought tardo and AMV4000 were the same dude..

Funny. He was the guy who sort've welcomed me into the AMV world once I got interested.
