I envy you. If Excel Saga's the worst dub you've heard that means you've been spared the brain bleed that is the English dub for Macross II: Lovers Again.
Although, oddly, the only dub I can honestly say I REALLY couldn't stand listening to for more than 3 minutes was Bible Black...
...I mean, I know hentai can't exactly afford professional voice actors, but GOOD GOD...

Also, to the starter of this thread - I envy you too...if Naruto's worst you can think of, you've dodged a LOT of bullets (...Debutante Detective Corps...even at only a half hour, this STILL felt like too big a chunk of my life.)

Are you sure you're not talking about Bleach? Bleach was good until the end of the Soul Society arc then got incredibly shit (though I'm still reading the manga -_-). Naruto is a fantastic anime, the fights are actually motivated by the growth in characters and plots etc. Unlike Bleach and DragonballZ, the fights in Naruto are there because they actually need to be there. Bleach follows a fight A to fight B plot formula while DBZ follows a 'this fight will last for 20 episodes' one. There are few twists along the way in the Naruto plot so it isn't completely linear like a lot of shounen anime. As long as you disregard the filler episodes Naruto is one of the best anime there is, and no matter what your opinion on that is, you cannot say otherwise against the fans, you're simply outmatched :/ Also recent developments in the manga = awesome.

There is also a sense of maturity in the characters in Shippuden, they actually to not be brats during the timeskip.

In summary, I don't think you know what you're talking about at all :/
