You'll audition just like every other beta tester. : |

@bluetrain: everyone has a clean slate this time. You weren't the only one who dropped out and/or had to be dropped, and I don't harbor any ill will towards those that did. Just audition like everyone else and we'll see what happens.

------------------------------------------

Wanted to address a few other things.

1. I've only gotten a handful of song submissions. That's going to make it really tough to make a song mix without delving into my own collection, and I'm not too hot on doing that. So please, if you have anything to send, now would be the good time to do it.

2. Some of the submissions I've been getting are, well... how do I describe this...? "Epic" would be the word, I think. I mean, I personally really like the songs that I'm being given, but some of them aren't exactly things that you can work easily into a MEP mix. I strongly encourage those who haven't to watch Reflections of Style 3, because that's the style of music I'm aiming for. It's stuff that isn't mainstream, but has enough of that kind of sound that makes songs somewhat easier to mix together.

3. Please try to avoid giving me songs that were featured in the MEPs I linked. I wouldn't mind using one or so songs that were in other great MEPs, but the thing is that those songs are already associated with great segments in peoples' minds. I don't particularly want to be known as the MEP that tried to duplicate Euphoria, y'know?

4. If you're thinking of working with any particular games, please try to rip/capture them first before you sign up with them. It doesn't take that long to try it out, and there are a number of guides on the site that spell out how to do that. If I pick you for the project, and you realize afterwards that your game doesn't really work, you can, of course, change games, just so long as they abide by the rules I set.

I think that's everything.

That just means that we have created an "Epic" MEP before anyone has even started editing. :D

But anyways, I can dive back into my collection if you want, and try and find something that is less epic and more like Reflections of Style 3, although I stand by my original submission.

Well, I'm no Takefuji, but I think I've come up with a mix that most people can agree with. Before I even began, I already knew what kind of sound I wanted for each song in this project. That's what made asking for submissions somewhat difficult, because everyone had a different idea of what they wanted to edit to and what they thought belonged in a MEP.

If your song didn't appear in the mix, it's for one of two reasons:
1. I already covered that style of song with a different piece.
2. It didn't mix well with the rest of the songs.

As I said before, for people who did submit, I personally really enjoyed most of the songs that were given to me, but of course, this mix isn't about my preference. It's about what I think people can edit to most easily and what will give a good creative outlet for people's unique styles. There are some tracks for action editors, some tracks for people who want more meaningful stories in their segments, and at least one song just for... different editing. I hope I've given enough diversity without compromising the flow of the mix.

I'm not posting track divisions until I've gotten a general consensus that this mix is okay with most people, so for now just get a general idea of what it feels like and on Thursday I'll probably go ahead and post the tracks so people can start auditioning.

http://www.aieli-ileia.com/djultima/FMV2MusicBeta.mp3

Songs are in this order:
Good Charlotte - "A New Beginning"
Lostprophets - "Last Train Home" (just the last few seconds for leading into the next track)
Lostprophets - "Make a Move"
Ladytron - "Destroy Everything You Touch"
Sunchase feat. Yana Kay - "Remember Me (Remix)"
Filter - "Take a Picture"
Explosions in the Sky - "The Only Moment We Were Alone"

Many thanks to Ileia for loaning her server space to me. <3

Hope you folks like it.

I like the mix as well!
The transitions sound very well, except the second one at 00:52. There is a short pause (this is probably because of ripping - the program made a pause between the 2 tracks), you should get rid of this, trying to make the transition as smooth as on the CD.
Anyway it's a nice composition of fast and - more or less - slow tracks.
Great job

Personally I don't care for the lyrics of some tracks, however musicly I really enjoy the mix. Found the cut at 12:27 to be the most noticeable one, but thats probability because of the instrument change.

Mix sounds great O:
Never imagined that my track actually would show up in it
I already see some editors having problems with it
Anyway like Arkada said "Found the cut at 12:27 to be the most noticeable one"
Personally I think the mix is ready for editing =)
