It could even be one of those sections that the creator makes available *only* if the video contains that - like the way you have to add lipsync and effects so people can score them. Those who don't want to mess with lyric sync can just leave that box unchecked.
I tend to discuss lyrics in the 'action sync' score - marking up or down if they're matched/ignored the same way I would any other part of a song. For me, that section wouldn't be needed. I'm not sure if it would help newer members or confuse them.
[In the first reviews I wrote, I thought 'action sync' was how much action a video had in it and whether that fit the music. But I hadn't read the "Opinion Guide" back then. ^_^;]
I'm a storyteller. Maybe my vision isn't what someone else sees. They could explain that as part of the general comments (If they are intelligent enough to leave a good comment anyways.) and it would be a valuble part of the overall feedback.
That's the main problem I'd have with a lyric sync section - who decides how to interpret lyrics (they're too much like poetry readings). Then again, not everyone syncs the same way, so the action sync score is just as preference-based.
