I found out how to fix that flicker.

Just as a tip of advice, you can remove this by right clicking the slowed clip, and choose Video Setup, and in the menu that pops to the side, Field Options, then click on Flicker Removal. This will make your clip nice and smooth without any flickering. (Had to learn the hard way.) Just a Premiere tip from Braveliver.

I noticed that too, but in the other cases where I've seen that (in my previews when I've forgotten to uncheck it, and in others vids), there is usually a flicker on both the top and bottom of the screen. In this case, I only see it on the bottom edge.

It could be that, or it might be a problem with the source footage. I haven't watched Utena myself, but I seem to recall reports of isues with the quality of the encoding of the DVDs.

It may or may not be an issue caused by Premiere, or anything Sarah did or didn't do.

I mean to say this in the op board too and will shortly, but thanks for the tip on the flicker. I will try that next time if it ever crops up again. I really didn't know where that was coming from. Good advice. Thanks very much. :)

Going backwards... I've had some problems with the video quality on the series DVDs (blips of static at the edges at cuts, for one thing), but the movie seems to be a LOT cleaner. I think the problem is probably due to the clips being slowed down. I'll have to watch out for that next time (repeating myself...moving on.)

Heh, well, it's one way to do romance. ;) Thanks.

Subject dropped, Nemoxs, if you say so. Just didn't know where the comment came from, but if there's no problem on your end, then that's that. *shrug*

Anyhow, thanks for downloading, anyone and everyone, and I hope you like it. :) (And even if not, hey, that's fine too. Let me know what you thought anyway.)

Um...I want to watch it, but I have a question first. ^_^;; You probably know what it is, but I'll ask anyway. Is the vid explicit? I mean, does it show them making out without clothing? I hate to spoil it for people, so if you'd rather PM me, that's fine. But I really want to watch this, and if it's explicit, I probably shouldn't. ^_^;

That was very sweet. Not too sold on the Duran Duran, but it worked beautifully.

Thank you. And it's not as Duran Duran-ey as, say, New Moon on Monday, so it could be worse. ;) Thanks for giving it a shot.

No prob. The short answer is "I don't think so." If anyone else has this concern, I may as well post here:

If it were explicit I wouldn't even risk putting it on local. I don't think it is.

Probably the "worst" is a scene where both undress to pose for art-class sketches, and one is shown in art-nude style. There's suggestion that more is going on, but it's all clothed. The infamous naked luge scene is not in this video at all.

(aside, just randomly - the rough draft had a shot from that, but in the second draft I thought, "You know, I intend to make an Utena Movie video without that shot of them kissing on the naked mecha-luge that EVERYONE uses." So I did.)

But then I'm relatively impervious to this kind of thing, so if anyone wants to chime in - is it too much or nearly so? It's really a matter of opinion.

Thank you *very* much for explaining. ^_^ I really do like what I've seen of the anime (though it has been years since then), I just get squicked a bit by the explicit stuff - I think particularly that scene you mentioned. ^_^; If I'm thinking of the same one, I've seen it *way* too much for comfort. Anyway, I'm downloading, and thanks again for explaining. Most Utena vids don't have any sort of warning whether they use that scene or not, so it's hard going in blind. ^_^

True, they don't often label. I think most people assume that if you know the source, then it's within your comfort level. Not a bad thing to remember, really.
