All the contest finalists who can actually appear @ the con should all get together someday @ the convention. I sure as heck would like to meet a few specific creators, namely Mr. Millberry (Aluminum Studios) and GeneStarwind (I gotta thank you in person for your opinion for my Drama/Serious entry).

Anyone up for it? Just a thought

P.S. I'm pretty sure someone else brought this up, but its 1 A.M. and I can't seem to find it. Oyasumi~ ^_^!
Come to the AMV panel @ 10:00 on Sat. morning. Last year most of the creators at the con showed up and we took some big group pictures afterwards and a bunch of us went out to lunch together. It was a good time and I hope it happens that way again.
After the con I really felt bad about missing that.
So many places to be at the same time =^(

Well, Actually I hope that after the panel some of you will actually come to the Miyazaki Panel I'm doing at 1:00 pm before going to lunch

Vlad
While we're pimping panels and such - I am doing a Japanese writing workshop @ 3:00 on Friday. It will be an intro to the Japanese written language for people who have never studied Japanese and don't really understand how the writing system works. Please stop by!
Awesome, sounds like a killer line-up. I will definately be @ the AMV panel, and most likely @ the Nihongo writing panel as well. I've been studying Nihongo (Japanese) for the past year or so independently. I've got most Hiragana and Katakana down pact, just Kanji is a bit too complicated for me at the moment ^_^.

Btw, Lunch sounds great, we should definately do that. I wonder how many creators are actually going to be @ the convention? Would be nice to meet a few familiar names ^_^.

Definately looking forward to the convention, as well as the contest. Good luck to all who compete!

Time ticking away 96 hours and 23 minutes until the first showing.

As for me they still aren't sure what they can do for my grandmother, but they are pretty sure it isn't cancerious so that's a good thing.

Well I'm coming to the con as my grandmother wishes. I have a good feeling about my grandmother that she is a strong person and will fight this and she'll be able to live with it for at the very least 2 years, if not longer. That's how confident I am in here.

Well I'll see you all there. Keep my grandmother in your prayers if you feel it will help. I'm praying for her every night. Thankyou to everyone for there support.

Mr Oni
Never assume!
At a con were the name Westware can mingle in with Vlad Pohnert And DokiDoki..... nothing is for sure. (I hate using myself as an example since it's somewhat egotistical.... but screw it, I did good!)

Honestly I think it's up in the air, esspecially since Tim didn't do comedy this year (which was extreamly surprising to say the least).

All I really care about right now if having a larger voter turnout this year.
We have three contest screenings, with the big one Friday night able to hold 5,000 people. There BETTER be more than 500 voters this year.

Hopefully the way ballots are being distributed this year will help with that. We'll see.

Does this mean the ballots won't be included in the registration bag?

I always wondered why they never distributed them at the door. That way you know that everyone who actually went in and saw the AMVs would be the ones who vote, and considering a lot of people go see them, I would say that more than 500 votes would be in. I wonder how they are distributing them....

Traditionally they've been included in your registration materials (along with the book, schedule, etc.)

I'd rather have them be one-per-registration-bag; it's a lot more difficult for people to stuff "extra" ballots that way if there's only one per bag throughout the entire convention. Having them passed out at the door is just asking for problems with the voting integrity.
