Romance Comedy along the lines of Love hina and Hayate the combat butler

The jist of the story is a boy visits his grandparents in the country near a shore called Seto, and he nearly drowns when he goes out to far, however a mermaid saves him. Only problem is, he saw this mermaid, and the Mermaid law dictates that any mermaid who is seen by a human will either have to die, or the person that saw her has to die. The only way to get around this, is to marry into the family. She decides to give herself as his wife, but she has a not too willing to see his daughter go to the clutches of a human father who also happens to be the leader of the mermaid equivalent of the Yakuza. Will he get out of this alive, with a father who is trying his best to get rid of him without his daughter catching on?

interesting series this is, Not what I was expecting when I blindly downloaded eps 1 on a whim, but wow  Its sorta like Hayate, but a little more love hina-ish on the violence how the girl sometimes treats the guy (whenever he does something perverted) and a little less over the top supid humor, though it does still have its fair share. Seems this is the year for comedy

I've seen upto episode 5 so far, and I like what I've seen so far.

and I LOVE the little maki-chan's persona     Poor sea-louse ;p

It's OK but the humor quickly becomes monotonous and and the same gags start to repeat. And it's barely up to episode 4 :?

It is upto episode 5 in raw, but I did mean 4 in my post. I didn't watch 5 yet.

I agree this series prob is not quite upto par to some of the other shows out right now, but I say Maki alone makes it worth it to watch ;p

Yeah, the opening ep kinda killed me and a friend laughing but now it seems to be drifting toward a more serious [or rather, not as funny] route and I'm starting to dislike it.

And also, HUMP SUZU ALREADY YA MORON!!!

damn, that previous post was for Airantou [doh]

Anyways, now that their settled in school... We see SHARK FUJISHIRO! Going human is one thing but when I realize he's the voice of Eddy from Guilty Gear [Koyasu Takehito, at least, to my ears], who's also infamous for a 'Shark' attack technique, it becomes quite humorous...

"There's no witness here, if I eat you right now, there'd be no evidence and I CAN GO HOME!!!!"

rrraAAAUUUGGHGHHHHH!!! *commence wild Chomping*

Airantou is running out of humor steam [and there's only so many nosebleed gags I can take before flipping on a good hentai], but DAMN Yakuza merman own the world! ^^
