Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Why don't you upload them to the local server? But you should probably worry about improving your compression first.
Since when has this site only been about the skilled and popular? The Org has been around a lot longer than the 'Tube, and never was it known that anyone <s>who implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided</s> who wanted to list or even host a video here was turned down because it wasn't good enough.
As JaddziaDax said, the stated aim of this website has always been to list <b>every</b> AMV in existence. And to whoever made that comment about "spamming the server", Phade seems to have made it his goal in recent years to host as many AMVs as possible as well. Besides, it's not like unpopular videos put that great of a strain on the site's bandwidth anyway, so what's it to you?
This website has always been such that those who just want to have fun putting anime to music can do so and those who feel compelled to conquer the world (and the Top 10% List) with their AMVs* can try, as well as accomodating everyone in between.
No one's making you watch, download, or comment on any given video if you don't want to.
And besides, as my signature states, there's nothing to say that the newbies of today won't be the legends of next year.
* With apologies to the originator of that line, who probably would not want to be named here. You know who you are.

I implore you Scintilla. In recent months this site has grown more and more hostile towards beginning editors and it's beginning to sicken me. I won't name names, but I've grown tired of reading all these MEPs in which people pick and choose the editors BEFORE they have a chance to prove themselves. I think it's utter bullshit. A lot of people need to get off the high horses they've saddled and give their egos a good shot in the head. Let people make what they want to make. We don't endorse YouTube, but don't tell people to go there If they want to be here. Teach them the way of the land, not burn them at the stake from the moment they do something wrong.Scintilla wrote:Why don't you upload them to the local server? Well I think the problem is that most beginners give a bad reputation to other beginners, because they pull stupid crap like posting links to their videos on youtube and don't actually put any effort into improving. They just keep releasing the same quality stuff over and over, and its usually never any good. For whatever reason most beginners won't listen to or just plain don't understand what you're talking about when you try to explain something to them. What it all comes down to is effort, and most beginners show little to no effort to improve so its frustrating to the people who actually ARE trying very hard to help them.Krisqo wrote:I implore you Scintilla. And me telling him to go to youtube was something said because I was frustrated, because I've offered my suggestions to him and it just doesn't seem to be clicking at all. I definitely don't ENCOURAGE people to post AMV's there...

sometimes it takes time for editors to get the clue of how to improve, not everyone starts off good right off the bat, and if they dont improve, then dont watch their videos... if you know that they are a "bad editor" then dont look at their stuff...
you have said what you wanted to them already, berating them over and over again isnt helping ovbiously, so sometimes you just gotta know when to quit...
if you got a personal issue with them then dont take it out on the forums... its bad form to "try to get someones thread locked just because you dont like them"
now let the guy's thread be before it gets too off topic and the thread is locked.
