You can all rest easy. I did not submit a video this year, and since every year I submitted a video something catastrophic happened with the competition, things should run smoothly this year. Yaaay! Anneke, your opinion of me being a no talent one-hit-wonder continues to remain accurate for the time being.

Good luck to all who entered!

Catastrophic things happened last year and you didn't submit. :x

Maybe it could have been the other way around!

anyone whose video ends up in the show, bring a back up authored dvd of your video. i think it was 2004, one video didn't get shown because of an error, and he was asked if he had a dvd of it on hand which he didn't :( what a horrible feeling that must have been.

I don't remember the creator but yeah I remember that happening to what turned out to be a very good video using the Animatrix.

I hope this thread is not dead...
Damn I feel if I enter the contest again this year that I won't make it in.
Compared to 200-400 AMVs what are the chances?
How do first-timers make it in with a few other hundred videos that didn't?

I need some advice here... Confused
i entered a video back in 2004 that didn't make it in. but that was my first time at expo, AND my first time seeing amvs of such quality i was blown away
so after watching several videos and going to expo one more time, i entered 2 videos last year, and both made it into the show.

now i'm not saying you should copy what you see, but get a feel for what really drives an audience. i wasn't surprised that one of my videos made it in, however i was really surprised about the other one, because i really didn't feel it deserved to be among the rest, but james and katy apparently felt differently.
you never really know. jus' do your best ^_^
I'm only worried if they are going to get my submission. :(
Last year I never got a email of confirmation so I hope it works out this year.

I just want to get in the contest, don't care about winning.
If I can get that far I will be extremely happy. :D

This my second time entering so hopefully I will make it, this is my best work yet and I had a lot of time to work on it.

Thanks for the words of motivation Rider, I have some confidence that I have a chance of getting in. That sense of accomplishment in making it in, maybe I can get a chance to feel it this year. :)

the deadline for AMV submission for AX 2007 is so early, mainly because I think Katy and James want to avoid random problems that occur.

So with that in mind, you can rest at ease. If you submitted a video, and followed all the instructions correctly, you will get a confirmation email.

The ONLY possible factor that would keep your submission from getting to them is if your package gets lost in the mail and it never makes it to the office.....ever.

Yeah but its not a full confirmation they are checking AMVs that break the rules and they are cutting it down.
We are reviewing all entries for compliance with the rules and once that is finished the initial round of judging will take place.
So if you did get it, you better have followed the rules or else.

Chances of getting in are better then, but now I'm worried bout my AMV not making it in, looks good but I have 2 parts I wish I could have fixed but damn. :(

Good luck to everyone though whether I make it :D or not. :x

Personally I find the wait to learn the finalists more stressful than the contest itself.

Good luck everyone.
