Sometimes, for whatever reason, you can't lower the velocity to zero though. Unless there's some way to type in the value of the opacity, you have to deal with the green bar across the clip, and that only goes down in fixed increments which, at least for me, are sporadic in their value. For example, sometimes it'll go down in increments of 3%, and then I'll close the project and open it later and now it'll go down in increments of 4%. What, Vegas doesn't have "frame hold" functionality anywhere?
And as long as you use a lossless format like .BMP, what's wrong with using screencaps?

i havent found a "frame hold" function if there is one...
i use the "create subclip" function though on one frame... it works great for me O.o
