1. Show the video as is and hope for the best.
2. Place a small box in the corner with the original intro in it, syncronized with your version.

However, I'd like to just say you don't need to clone it completely. People aren't going to mark points off because "this guy didn't act exactly like the original did in the intro."
I don't think you give the judges enough credit XD
As long as you were to keep it constant for everyone, show the original then the paradoy for each editor, I don't think it would confuse anyone. As long as it was done in the same order for every entry. (short titles saying which is which could also be used)

It seems unfair that a video could possibly win because it is copying a more recognizable anime, over one that copies/parodies the original much better, but uses a lesser known anime. :\
I agree with Kit in the fact that, copying as close as possible is the whole point to this theme, and not having some kind of point of reference seems weird >_>

But either way, thanks for answering ^^ and I can understand it taking up time...I guess you're saying it's basically up to the editor to do something, which is cool...The picture in picture is a good idea...as long as they can kinda look at both... :3

Just a reminder, we got 2 more weeks till it's time to stop taking AMVs, if you plan on uploading it, finish it now, as I know we're expecting to get hammered on the last day, and if we can't download faster than we can upload then it means we won't be getting your video in on time. If you're one of those who waits for the last minute, start saving up for overnight fedex/ups/dhl/pony express.
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....

I will get a copy of the original OPs in case a judge doesn't know them. Most likely this won't be too hard considering my access to stuff. I will be impressed if someone does an OP of something that I haven't seen before.

The first batch of tech confirmations have been sent out. If you do not receive one I do not have your entry as of 4-08-07 11:00 (GMT -5).

What if we provide our own hosting for the MPEG-2? When we send in our entry form, can we just include a link to download? This could take some stress off of the upload server.

I doubt Load will be an issue for the server. It is more of the fact we have a limited space allocation on it. I am actively watching the ftp and pull stuff off it pretty quick. I will be paying even closer attention as we near the deadline.

If you can't get it on the FTP I will take take direct if you can supply something that is fast (at least 150 k sustained).

I may attempt this if I get closer to the deadline and can't get it uploaded before the rush. (I think I'll be done with plenty of time to spare though.)

My personal server is plenty fast. I just know that I'm gonna be coming down to the wire and really don't want to have to be dealing with a stressed/cramped FTP server.

Time's running out, there are only 6 days left before the deadline, unlike
the years before we chose the absolute latest we can wait before the con so
this year there will be NO deadline extension. Get your videos mailed out
now or uploaded.
