I don't think you give the judges enough credit XDSailorDeath wrote:Well, I think it'd confuse the judges if we showed both during the contest. Plus it'd eat up some valuable time. What I'd suggest is either this:
1. Show the video as is and hope for the best.
2. Place a small box in the corner with the original intro in it, syncronized with your version.
However, I'd like to just say you don't need to clone it completely. People aren't going to mark points off because "this guy didn't act exactly like the original did in the intro."
As long as you were to keep it constant for everyone, show the original then the paradoy for each editor, I don't think it would confuse anyone. As long as it was done in the same order for every entry. (short titles saying which is which could also be used)
It seems unfair that a video could possibly win because it is copying a more recognizable anime, over one that copies/parodies the original much better, but uses a lesser known anime. :\
I agree with Kit in the fact that, copying as close as possible is the whole point to this theme, and not having some kind of point of reference seems weird >_>
But either way, thanks for answering ^^ and I can understand it taking up time...I guess you're saying it's basically up to the editor to do something, which is cool...The picture in picture is a good idea...as long as they can kinda look at both... :3
