I saw the first episode recently. I feel that this has potential since while the first episode didn't really give too much, it did leave off at an interesting cliffhanger. Also the main girl Matsuri (which I have to say, the color pallet and her outfit is damn appealing; absolute territory FTW) might hinted as a
Though the main male lead, Yorito, does obsess a lot about taking pictures of the sky. On the plus side, he is in good terms with his other girl friends so he not a total loser.
This series sola has attractive character designs from the original designer of Da Capo. Combined with solid animation from Nomad (of Rozen Maiden fame), this might turn out to be one of the more promising romantic drama series for this season. And just to note, this is an ORIGINAL production so sola is actually not based on any past media works (in fact there will be an upcoming PC game and manga based on this series). Hell, the one who created sola is Naoki Hisaya who mostly known as the main writer for the infamous visual novel from Key, Kanon!
I'm definitely keeping my eyes peeled on this!

Ok, I am officially hooked! Matsuri is AWESOME in episode 2! The dialog exchanges between her and Yorito shows off some development and chemistry they have (I really laughed out loud when Matsuri tried to cook Yorito dinner; you don't have to be a chef to see what the hell she did wrong
). In a way, the dynamics between those two reminded me of Shiki and Arcueid in Tsukihime (which, by the way, is a totally badass series). Also, it seems like

pretty animation in this. I'm just now noticing this thread, though I have seen episode1 a while now. I reserve impressions for until I see more, but its somewhat entrigueing enough to keep watching. Kinda like Noin was in the beginning, and I ended up loving that series. I shall probably have more to say in a few episodes.

oh and the title is actually written using english letters as Sola. It could just be an intentional play off the word Sora for sky. Japanese have made mistakes in official naming's before with mixing up the R and L in romanji though, so it still is a possibility.Psygnius wrote:Her name means Festival? Strange name....
Also, I haven't seen the series, but after your explanation, I think the title of the series is supposed to be Sora(which means Sky). But I haven't seen any of the series at all, or seen how the title is actually written.
