Sony Vegas 7.0: "Render As" problem
im currently making a music video for FFX and this is the first time i use Sony Vegas. everything works fine, the preview, audio, the video, and saving it as a project. i wanted to see how it'll look as a final video so i thought id save it as a movie. so i went to "Render As" and i chose ".wmv" as the file type then saved. so a window opened then it loads... but only for a few seconds. then i checked the file where i saved it but the video shows only 3 seconds of the whole video. the video itself is about 4 minutes long. i also tried to save it as ".avi" but still no luck.
the files i used r ".mp3".. and ".mpeg".
am i doing sumthing wrong?

and they aren't frame-accurate, which means that all your sync could go down the drain...and nobody wants that (at least no editor that I know)JaddziaDax wrote:but they are lossy :/RIPmyprsoul wrote:actually u can edit with mpg files...just make a fake avi file with avisynth...look in the avisynth forums if u dont already kno how toCrackTheSky wrote:Don't edit with MPEG or MP3s. if a codec doesn't say lossless, or have a lossless option...then it is lossy. (this means divx, xvid, mepg1, mpeg2...and a multitude of others)
a good lossy codec takes advatage of what the human eye cannot see to give you better compression.
try re-encoding something to mpeg1 or 2 a few times and you'll start to notice it.
