Has nothing to do with bandwidth. After you have downloaded 10 videos and not given them star ratings the site will force you to give them ratings before you can download any other videos. So some people just give random garbage because they don't like being forced.aniteh wrote:I understood your points as to why I shouldn't rely on the star-rating except for this one:
Why? Does the bandwidth for uploads increase with every download?First off a lot of people just randomly assign stars because they haven't actually watched the video yet but want to download more
Probably two people downloaded the video twice. Also, this is o/t but I think it is okay to mention it here, on my 'edit videos' page, the number of downloads for my amv "Keep Holding on" is 50, but on the 'bandwidth used' page, its says 52 dl? It's the only amv of mine that the number of downloads doesn't match up. Why?
Eh, whatever. Do it because YOU want to produce a better video not because other people think you should.I'm not only relying on the star rating but on opinions and comments I have received too. And I think I'm capable of making a better version.

Well it maybe be like "whatever" to you and to crackthesky, but part of showing your AMV to others is hoping they they would like it and be entertained by it.Eh, whatever.
Let's say you made up and performed a dance routine in front of an audience, and your audience tells you it is crappy, either take up another hobby, keep your crappy dancing to yourself, or improve your routine. I choose the latter. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Look, crackthesky and whoever, if you think I'm whiny, that's because you forgot what it was to be a newbie to this. Admit it, you felt like a douchebag when you got a low rating on your first AMV, and you know you wanted to redo it. So don't give this "make videos for you" BS advice to newbies because now you get high ratings on your videos. "I'm mocking you" has to be the most obnoxious thing I ever got, whatever happened to courtesy and relating opinions without being a jerk about it?
Ahh, last time I make complaint, I had only asked for a video to be removed, not to be mocked!

Hey, I'm a newbie too, and I feel the same way as those 2. AMVs are a hobby, and a hobby is defined as something you pursue for fun and relaxation. The main points of your vids should be to entertain yourself, not others. Sure, getting props from other people gives you a warm fuzzy feeling and criticism can sometimes make you feel down. But the important thing is that you enjoy your creation. Yes, my first video isn't that good and I want to remake it. But that is because I want to do it.

Or just make a new routine and try to improve with every new one. But keep enjoying yourself in the process because if you just keep doing only what the audience wants and not what you want, you'll start to hate dancing/choreographing, and you'll eventually stop and take up underwater basket weaving. Also look at film. There's some films out there *cough*300*cough* that are really great, but were ripped apart by critics. That doesn't mean its bad. It's just what the couple people who happen to have a public voice said. And on that same note, sometimes, a film flops. But that doesn't mean the studio is going to pull it and redo it just because people didn't like it. They're just going to do better on the next one and maybe remake it many years down the road if they really want to. So basically, everyone has their flub vids. There's no shame or crime in that. Only remake it if you really want to, not because of some ratings. The org only removes vids if you remater it (like improve the visual or audio quality, not remake it.), or if there is some other REALLY good reason. I don't like it, it sucks, or I want to do a better version is not a good enough reason for them. And JUST HAVE FUN!!! *^_^*aniteh wrote:Let's say you made up and performed a dance routine in front of an audience, and your audience tells you it is crappy, either take up another hobby, keep your crappy dancing to yourself, or improve your routine.
