I will try the opinion exchange thing. I'll start a thread there so I know who all wants to.

On the dbz topic I agree that the anime is fluff. But as you all should know dubs are evil and subs are awesome. DBZ is one of the animes that never really had the opportunity to show its true self. The clips I used were from a new box set a friend of mine bought. We watched the entire first season with the original japanese audio and it was amazing, I liked the series before and its even better now.

Here's a link to the original credits of DBZ (12.4MB):

You will likely be surprised.

It still sucks that people don't realize that new people need encouragement too (/cry).

Stupid filter that turns words with lots of o's into o

p.s. Providing download links to DBZ credits is probably against forum rules.

Even if that were true, and some would argue it isn't, it's entirely irrelevant to most of the org's apathy towards DBZ videos.

When I started back in the late nineties, most of the things you could get your hands on, especially online, were DBZ videos first to heavy metal, then to Linkin Park. We didn't have much diversity. Now that we do, most of us simply want to watch other stuff because we can now.

I actually resent that. I regularly go out of my way to download and comment on at least three or four videos per day. I've often helped new people in the video and audio forums. I even wrote a sticky, and am working on mac-centric guide. Maybe you got skipped, and that can feel pretty crappy, but isn't fair to say that the community as a whole is unwilling to help new people.

Why? You don't need us to hold your hand when you jack off because masturbating is fun and you don't need encouraged to do it. I mean it's not like you expect your parents to stand at the foot of the bed and hold up score cards while saying "The wrist work was astounding but I felt he could have achieved a little more distance at the end there, I mean the pud didn't even reach his bellybutton. I give it a 9.4." So why do you need to be encouraged to make AMVs? If you find it fun then make the god damned things regardless of how much feedback you do/don't get. If you don't find makes AMVs is fun then go find some other damned hobby. I hear fanfic authors are full of patronizing bullshit about how great everyone is even if it is just a sailor moon/dragonhalf yuri fistfucking fanfic. Try them. They'll give you the bullshit praise and attention you so desperately crave to stroke your fragile little ego.

Ego Shield 40% and holding :?

godix: I need constant praise or my tendons will go limp ;p Please don't hate me for my disability.

I'm sorry if I offended you guys, it was not my intention. All I wanted was to say how I felt about a situation that I perceived as a raw deal.

I made the video because I wanted to make a video, but in the same breath I wanted to share that enjoyment I had with others. When it seemed no one wanted to it sucked.

Stereotypes suck but they are a good guidelines most of the time. When the artist is someone you've never heard of it should raise some flags (Assuming you've never heard of Southern Culture on the Skids, kind of a Country group).

Anways, to summarize sorry if I made any of you upset I was just sharing my pain instead of my joy this time.

I think it sucks that new people think they're the shit while rehashing the same stuff that's been done a million times before.

Most of the time, that's because they're new enough to the hobby to not know that it's been done a million times before. I don't think the people who start as fans and start editing later have that problem.

see but if its an artist we have never heard of the steryotype of newbies here is that their standards are usually pretty low... therefore they dont really make "good things" O.o so its not just that its DBZ, its a newbie AND DBZ..

either way you want that op exchange?
(i might be up for it tomorrow)
if so you gotta tell me cause i wont do it unless its asked for

Well, according to his profile, he's been around for over a year...
