Ayeka/Tenchi AMV
I have a new AMV which premiered yesterday. For some reason, this video has generated a lot more response than any of my previous videos. I even got 2 comments and 1 opinion in within 2 -3 hours of its premiere. But most of the responses have been negative and I have a low rating 3.43 (it changes).
I'm disappointed because I worked the hardest on this one. That's why I'm looking for more constructive criticism, I want to know what makes a great AMV. I don't watch many AMVs, because Tenchi is the only anime at this time I'm interested in and well there not many Ayeka/Tenchi ones, so if someone can suggest a really good Tenchi AMV even a Ryoko/Tenchi one, I would appreciate it.
Details for the video
Video: Bathwater - Ayeka and Tenchi
Anime: Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe
Song: Bathwater
Artist: No Doubt

A commendable effort. I enjoyed watching the video. To see my full critique, check the opinions section for your video.

If you really want, you could take a look at the new video I just released, and maybe my older stuff too, if you're interested.

I said dated. I'm not sure the connotation of "outdated" is the same in this context. Dated isn't an issue by itself. In fact, if dated is done in a certain way, it can be considered "nostalgic" or "a throwback." Those are positive comments. If I had seen your video in 1998, I would have likely loved it. I think the issues you have are less about editing flow and more about decisions like including lip flap, or your unsuccessful lip sync. Edit those out and your "amv classic" flow will be appreciated much more.aniteh wrote:I see, so you're saying that my editing style is outdated. Any advice to improve it?

OLD SCHOOL EDITING FOR THE WIN!
My one reccomendation is that you graduate from Windows Movie Maker and the WMV format. It's better for everyone if your releases are in XviD, MPEG, or H.264 video formats. Try to get your hands on a copy of Premiere or Vegas.

Again I still don't know exactly what you mean. You got to help me out here. Why would you likely love it in 1998 and not now? Ahhhh you got me so confused.Kionon wrote:I said dated. I have issues with Windows Movie maker so I can understand why I should change programs, but is there a particular problem with WMV?

People who aren't running Windows have the most problems with it.aniteh wrote:Again I still don't know exactly what you mean. You got to help me out here. I just don't like it. It's too closed, plus it's outdated. Then again, so is XviD...
