Get with the times buddy. It's not syndicate anymore, it's called a cell. The Org is a centralized connection of loosely connected Copyright-Infringement pseudo-Capitalist terrorist cells.

The Orgs goal is to archive and distribute AMVs; however, in the shady realms that are only available to the more technically trained, it's a sanctuary for music distribution and pirates. Using sophisticated techniques by keywords such as "ripping," "stripping", and "extracting", these blatant anti-American and anti-Capitalists create massive archives of music. Although these distributed files range from sizes of 15 megabytes to over 100 megabytes, with the sophisticated broadband technology used by these terrorists, copyright infringe takes minutes, some do it in seconds.

Who is fighting these dangerous people and this monstrous organization whose members have wrecked millions in lost capital gain? No one has yet to make any big response. It's a testament to the Org's powers and it's tainted influence, both of which are so vast and overwhelming that no single corporation can shut it down. To destroy this terrorist organization, America and the World will need to come together. They will need to combine all their wealth, their weaponry, and their gods. Else, they will fail so long as one terrorist remains to spread his or her deluded vision of AMVs. If one remains, the world will be doomed to repetitions of Orgs, wars, and the suffering of millions of people, mostly children, as they face the evils and struggles in copyright infringement, sleepless nights staring zombified by their screens, they hands moving by unconscious mental pulses over their keyboards.

Think of the poor misguided innocent children. Think of the poor starving artists! Think of how great America would be without being down troddened by the Orgs evil grasp! Think of the millions in taxes that can be spent on schools, on helping the poor, and on protecting the great citizens of this country!

Ladies and gentlemen, won't you just plain think!

The org is non-prof? It's not even a registered organization last time I checked. I can't deduct shit on my income tax when I donate.

Have you taken a look at the donation stats? The site rakes in a hefty sum, "Golden Donut" indeed, in bling.

member page says there's 69 videos uploaded to local in the last 2 days, but super search 'local downloadable, last 2 days' and you get a a measly 37 results... What do you think those other 32 videos are of? Yeah that's right, it's all a front... but for what?

one of these days org...ONE OF THESE DAYS!!!
Bang, zoom, straight to the moon!
[/infringement]

on topic now...my feelings on the matter
making amvs = kinda legal
distributing amvs = kinda illegal

fair use vs. derivative works for the anime (at least in my mind)
...and it's a pretty blatant violation for music (unless you edit the song...which then goes back to fair use vs. derivative works) as most of us know

...but org = crime syndicate?
not so much.
that's kinda like calling a typical child's lemonade stand part of big business.
although it is technically a business (which technically requires a license...and payment of taxes) most people of sound judgement wouldn't consider it as such

I think the lack of money makes the org just another free for use online fandom community that happens to be sharing copywritten material. Syndicates don't just make money to use for illegal side jobs. Their purpose is to make money. It's a question of intent. The org could remove the local system and its intent and purpose would not change one single bit. Archive, list, catelogue. There would be fewer donations and that would be fine because the cost would be less. People would continue to distribute their videos with megaupload and the like, no money lost or gained. Shut down a syndicate and you get loss of money and life and and a lot of really angry guys with weapons. Shut down the org and you just get some outraged hobbyists for a few weeks before they shrug and go use a different free online host to share their fanwork.
